Budget Under £100

Job We need an electric cooker point installed on Thursday 28th or Friday 29th July. There's spare capacity at the CU so just need the cable run and the cooker switch installed. The CU is near ceiling in kitchen so cable needs to run up through the loft and back down again (roughly 12ft from CU to where we need the new cooker point). Electrician will need to supply cable and cooker switch please. Many thanks!

Comment Unfortunately, despite a great first impression, the job was not satisfactorily completed, we were not issued with the certificate for the work (which we are required by law to have) and Mr Drummond has not returned any calls from the voice mails we left for him nor is he responding to our phone calls. Admittedly the job was more complicated than we imagined (not being electrically-savvy), but we paid double the originally agreed amount to compensate for this. We were going to invite Mr Drummond to carry out the complete re-wiring job for our house but not after this experience. This is a real shame as he did seem like a competent and knowledgeable man when we first met, not borne out by our experience though, sadly. Alan

Budget I'm not sure

Job Old style fuse box to be replaced with modern breaker(?) style unit. Some sockets do not work, so check these and make good (including the ones in the adjoining garage). We'd also like to add at approx 6 or 7 double sockets throughout the house. Finally, we'd like some of the ceiling lights re-situated to the centre of the rooms as they are currently offset.

Comment From start to finish Terry was on the button. The man started with a comprehensive chat about my requirements, suggesting ideas when needed, options for sourcing materials ( i let Terry do this) and insisted he didn't need any money until the job was done and i was happy. To save cash i asked if i could do the labouring, and Terry was happy to do this. The thought of me doing any electrical work would have had my high-school physics teacher in stitches, but i actually managed to enjoy the job thanks to Terry's patience and knowledge. In the end he did everything that i asked him to do, turned up when he said he would and even worked around the guys who were installing our double-glazing at the same time. In the new year we'll be having some more work done to the house, and Terry even laid extra cabling under the floors in preparation for this. Certainly, if we have the choice we'll be having Terry back to do the rest of the work. Happy to recommend him, and look forward to working with him again in the future. Graeme
