Budget Under £250

Job We have an old fashioned fuse box with fuse wire in plug in holders. On switching on a light, one of the holders was physically blown out and ejected from the fuse box. The fuse wire in the holder is still intact. We have lost the downstairs ceiling lights

Comment The job was well done, and on the same day. I know enough about wiring (though not house wiring) to know. The installed box was high quality, and the job's cost was about what I expected (in fact a little under). It was also done on the same day so I had lighting by nightfall. Chris

Budget Under £250

Job I have a spotlight not working in the bathroom despite changing the bulb. Not sure if it's the transformer or wireing. We have also had a new partitioning put up to divide the lounge from a second reception room. One of the spots in the second reception room works off of a switch that is in the lounge. So this spot needs to be changed to work off of the correct switch.

Job NEW 17th ED CONSUMER UNIT Replacement of existing fused consumer unit with new 17th edition dual RCD 10 way unit. This is to allow for connection of a newly installed electric shower. Existing main fuse is 100A. Currently 4 circuits on existing board - 2 x lighting (5A) 1 x ring main (30A) 1 x immersion/boiler circuit (15A)

Afterwards Gurdip ensured we received our important certification by hand delivering the documentation. Budget Under £500

Job To supply and fit a new main fuse board with RCD circuit breakers (17th Edition) to comply with current regulations. Check loading on all circuits. The house is a 2 bed mid-terrace which is currently rented out. I am the landlady and am currently in South Africa so email is the best way to contant me, however I have given my husbands mobile as a back up. I have currenlty been quoted £500 for the above works which is far too expensive.

Job 2 of a series of 4 recessed spotlights not working (one comes on briefly when the others do, and then goes off, and the other doesn't come on at all). Also, replacement of a standard triple lightswitch with a triple dimmer switch (already purchased)

Job We need the wiring in the house checked following a recommendation from an electrician who did some work on downstairs bathroom. We have a 3 bed terraced house and we would also need 2 light switches and 4 lights fittings replaced please. We have already purchased the switches and lights. Many Thanks

Budget Under £500

Job I have two bathrooms in my flat with standard central light fitting in the ceiling. I want to replace these both with 2-4 halogen lights in each bathroom. I would do it myself but it's in the bathroom and I want to get a qualified electrician in to do it. Note that I am in a flat and there is only a six inch space above the plasterboard before you hit concrete, but I assume the job is still reasonably straight forward. Note also that in one of the bathrooms the flue from the boiler passes through so this will need to be avoided.

Job Moving a boiler switch from a wooden fixture (which was affixed to the wall but is now not) onto the wall. Removing an electrical socket which is also contained on the same wooden fixture (socket is not needed for future use so just needs to be made safe). Installing a new electrical socket.

Comment Nigel was very friendly and reliable and kept to the appointments set. I also thought he was very good value for money. The finish of the job was perhaps not as high quality as I'd hoped but the electrical work itself was done very well and I would definitely use him again for any further work. Amanda
