Central heating control unit and thermostat need to be replaced, problem is matching the old wiring to the new units.
Ian was quick to follow up on a quote for the job and actually coming around to start it. The job was relatively easy (replacing a central heating timer and thermostat) but when he (seemingly) finished the job, he didn't check that everything was working fine. We foolishly paid him before realising that only the hot water, but not the heating was working. We queried this and he turned up early the next morning to sort it out. However, even after buying another part, he couldn't complete the job. After he had been fiddling about with it for about two hours, we decided to end this farce and tell him that we didn't believe he could sort it. He walked off, ignoring our request to get at least half of our money back. Result: we were without central heating and hot water for several days until we could get another electrician to fix it. When catching up with Ian a week later, he said he couldn't remember what the problem was and still didn't offer to refund any money.

I am looking for quotations to supply and fit a new consumer box in my home. The electrics for the house have recently been renewed throughout by a trained electrician with many years experience. Unfrotuantely he does not have the current Part P (or equivalent of) so the electrics for the house are currently not signed off. I have recently had building work done on the property and this is the final step prior to sign off to the local council/authority. I require a registered electrician who is qualified to fit the consumer box and test/sign off all the electrics so that certification can be submitted to the local authority. There is one further small job of fitting a low voltage extractor fan in the bathroom. Thanks Quotations required at present.
