Right-hand switch on 2-switch light switch causes circuit breaker to trip when operated. I've replaced switch plate with new unit and rewired identically - same problem occurs. Need expert to fix. At same time, replace and rewire kitchen light unit over sink.
Mr Cowell arrived on time. Pleasant and trustworthy. The job turned out to require far more work than could have been foreseen - he did all the rewiring work without any drama then sorted the originally-requested light switch and fitting. Very reasonable charge, I thought, and gave him c.10% tip. Excellent all round, and I wouldn't hesitate to use him again, and recommend.

upstairs lights are temperamental. sometimes they don't come on then after a period of time come on. this affects bathroom, and 3 bedroom lights.

I need an electrician for our tenant's flat in Chelmsford. We understand that the night time booster on the immersion water heater is not working, but the day time is OK. The tenant has given up some numbers which are placed on the top, which say "type 311, 3.0kw, 240volts. Thank you.

3 rooms, with various sockets (lighting and mains) that need to be checked. Ever since I moved here 4 years ago, the living room light has been a bain of my life here. It has two switches (one a dimmer, one with an on/off flick switch) on two sides of the room. But one does not override the other - ie: I turn the light on from one side of the room, but I cannot turn it off with from the other, I have to turn it off using the SAME switch I turned it on with. I have a socket behind my fridge which has been taped up since I moved here...so I'd like this to be checked out. My washing machine socket has stopped working - I believe it may just be a fuse. The flat was built with storage heaters. These were removed before I moved here, and the switches/sockets have been left where they were. One actually has a suspicious black burnt looking mark down one side, so I'd like this to be looked at, and if they are both ok, I want one (or both of them) wired up to a new radiator I am planning to buy. Very bad...but the bathroom also has an open mains socket...not me...it was here when I moved in. (are you getting the sense that the guy who lived here before was a bodgeup!?). Anyway, I'd like this to be sorted out, and wired up to a new radiator I am planning to buy. Please can somebody come and have a look, and give me a quote for getting the work done. Thanks!
