To refit light pull in downstairs loo. Someone yanked it too hard last night and the string came out. Have re-tied string but cannot work out how to re-assemble and refit fitting to the ceiling.
Responded and arrived promptly. Good job well doneAndrew
A very simple job - a friend who happens to be an electrician was visiting from London and he connected a dimmer switch to my bathroom yesterday but it does not work today. I think the simple thing is to just reconnect the original switch. IT'S A 10 MINUTE JOB FOR SOMEONE WHO KNOWS WHAT THEY ARE DOING - it's just that I am not good with electrics
Meanwhile i have no light in the bathroom
Sorry I did not do this sooner - I was away with no internet access... John Dalton was prompt, helpful, polite and generally a very nice guy. It was a small job but one I was not able to do myself and he did it quickly and at a fair price. I would use him again.Amber
loss of power to sockets, persistent light bulbs blowing, dodgy connections? on ceiling lights
Prompt efficient and thorough service. I had been trying for almost a year to get someone to do a small but essential job for me - and he did it all in less than a week from first phone call to finished job. He kept in touch by text throughout the job while I was at work, so there were no surprises and we both knew exactly what was expected. Highly recommend this guy!Laura-Jayne
of a series of half a dozen similar lights, one unit has burnt out. It was fitted about 7 years ago and used Smilight fittings which I have been told are no longer available. I need to replace that unit (90cm long) with a compatible model.
Exccellent work. Took 2 weeks to send the bill, hence delay in submitting ratingDonald

We have installed two replacement switches (a two way 3 gang dimmer and a two way 2 gang switch) in one downstairs room and the ceiling lights are working correctly. However, none of the other ceiling lights are working in the other downstairs rooms. I have checked the trip switches and I presume the problem is to do with my switch wiring.

my last electrician installed a dimmer switch in the bedroom but didn't wire it up properly with the rocker switch on the other side of the room so the rocker switch no longer turns the lights off. I would like this sorted. also look at electrical fault in washing machine.

One circuit in the house keeps tripping and we don't know what is causing it or why. The majority of the plugs are on this circuit as is the fridge and the electric shower, but it normally happens when the house is empty or during the night.
I would like the cause of this to be found and put right.

My Hoover fan oven has started to trip the house circuit when it has been on for a few minutes. The light and fan work without the elements, but when the cooker heats up with either just the elements, or with the fan, it trips the whole house. I am concerned that there could be an earthing problem with this part of the circuit but also think it would be a good idea to get the cooker properly installed into the cooker socket (at the moment it is just plugged into a normal socket, which it came with).
