Fuse that keeps tripping. The circuit it's on includes plug sockets for one tv, a dvd player and a reading lamp. It has been tripping regularly for a few days and now trips almost as soon as it's put back on. Have tried disconnecting tv and dvd but it hasn't helped.

The lights in my flat keep blowing and tripping the trip switches. Most recently, a light blew in the hallway, and since then I've been unable to get the lights in there working again (I suspect the problem is the dimmer switch) The job would be to first get the hallway lights working again, and secondly to check the electrics in the flat. I also need the dimmer switch in the living room replaced (it has previously burnt out, so I put a regular switch in as an interim measure) The flat is a one bedroom flat. There are four rooms in all and a hallway. There are three dimmer switches with all other switches being regular ones.
Very helpful: he was happy to explain what he was doing, and offered several choices about the best way of doing things. Good service.

Our electicial circuits are failing. In a 2 floor flat the upstairs sockets and lighting no longer works, and the downstairs lighting no longer works. The downstairs sockets still work. I have checked the fuse box and nothing has tripped. We need someone the sooner the better.

Hallway spotlights popped when I turned them on after coming in the door. They aren't working anymore. I replaced both spotlight bulbs to no effect. Need electrician to come in and poke around.

We are looking for a certified electrician who is qualified to issue a certificate for the whole job. Our kitchen is being moved from one room (room 1) to another room (room 2). We need an electrician to do the following: 1) Rewiring of new kitchen (room 2), including installing necessary suckets for kitchen to work adequately 2) Adding two suckets to new room (room 1) 3) Adding on/off light switch to new room (room 1) 4) Check fuse box to make sure kitchen and rest of flat run on two different lines. If they don't, we need the fuse box chenged.
Vin was very competent, and his price was quite competitive. I had a big job which included re-wiring a new kitchen and bedroom. He also changed the fuse box so that it complies with the standards of the Council. Everything was done well and quickly. He is very nice and polite. I definitely recommend him and won't hesitate to use him again. He was able to provide all certificates required by the Council, and his company notified the Council directly of the changes made in the flat.

I have lots of halogen lights on dimmers with transformers. Some are not working. I've checked both the bulbs and the transformers and the problem seems to be with the wiring of the light fittings. Sometimes I can get a bulb to work just by wiggling it a bit, but it usually stops working the following day. I'd like someone to look at these light fittings (there are about 5 in all and I have a long step ladder to reach the ceilings) and figure out what is going on.

Repair. Three switches seem to give continuous problems. We have bowl lights with dual switches to turn them on and off. These are also dimmers. One switch we had repaired has to be hit to turn on and off. One fails to work. A third one does not work after having a new light put in it. It seems the aluminium switches cannot be replaced identically. We need a visit to assess how to repair or replace to make the existing system work. I would also be interested in getting an electrical safety certificate (last done 6 years ago).
