"Positives: The contractor was very punctual and came up with some clever workarounds for dead circuitboards. He also went well out of his way to buy materials for the job. Less positive: for the one more complicated job (a light fixture installation), the initial installation was not well planned or carried out, and the area was not covered or cleaned. The contractor did return to fix the installation a week later, and it is now OK. Finally, the quoted price for labour was about 60% less than what was asked at the end of the job (based on an hourly rate that was not mentioned previously). However, the quoted price seemed very low to me so this was not so much of a surprise. "

"James (Jim ) fitted spotlights into my bathroom,he also removed the extractor fan and over mirror lighting. The spot lights look great and the work was done really well. He gave me advice on what i needed to buy , quantity of lights etc, which was a great help. he was able to take the job on quickly for me. Additionally Jim installed a light in the loft , which i added to the job at the last minute. I would recommend Jim to friends. Cheers Jim !"

"Prestige Electrics arrived on time for quote. Having promised to telephone later that day, I received the quote by text, but no phonecall. For the work we discussed, I was shocked by the figure I was given (very high). No breakdown was given for materials,labour or other associated costs. I would expect a professional to include this, and to explain how this figure was arrived at. Having spent many years in the building trade, I've come to the conclusion that any tradesman who offers a transparent, professional, reliable service will see their business soar. Sadly, most do not realise this. I would not recommend."
