Fit stair carpet (no underlay ). Plus small landing. Kingsteignton.
Good communication, turned up on time. Fitting was atrocious - five hours fitting a stair carpet, which was left with holes, not stretched or properly attached. He didn't know how to fit turns or curves. Our woodwork was damaged badly with his knife. When I politely pointed these things out, he collected his tools and left without taking payment and said that he "hadn't wanted to do the job anyway" despite the fact he viewed before and quoted. Carpet may have to be replaced. Very stressful/awkward.

The work would be to trim the bottom of two doors, one is the entrance door to a falt off the main corridor. The other door is a cupboard door. The doors scrape the existing carpet (about 12mm thick )and the new coir matting going in at the front door is even thicker (17mm ). This job would entail removing the doors, planing them and then replacing them. In addition, I would like the coir matting (supplied in a rectangle about 1m x 1.3m) to be fitted at the front door with a carpet bar between it and the existing hall carpet. The coir matting would have to replace the strip of carpet and underlay which is there at present and the gripper rods removed and the threshold bar across the cupboard door removed and the coir matting fitted if needed as it extends into the cupboard. The main living room carpet is also to be replaced, involving uplifting and disposing of the carpet and existing rubber underlay and then laying new 8mm thick foam underlay and new carpet in to a room about 4.5m x 5.2m . A join may be required in the carpet which may be only available in a 4m width or a carpet bar . The carpet and underlay may be available in stock in the Exeter area so it would also involve collecting the carpet and underlay to take this to the flat in the EX4 area near Exeter Central station - ground floor access. Furniture in the room is lightweight (Ikea) furniture and easily moved by one person.
I needed to replace a lounge carpet and trim the bottom of some doors to suit a thicker coir matting at the entrance to my flat. Matt and Peter carried out these jobs efficiently and professionally, advised me about the t order and economic fitting, keeping in good contact to ensure the timing of the delivery of the carpet would match their appointment for carrying out the work. Despite a last minute delivery of the carpet, all went well and the finished effect is just as I wanted. An excellent result!

I am looking to replace the carpets in the bathroom and shower room with wood or laminate flooring. Research suggests that engineered wood is better for these rooms. I will need advice, purchase of and fitting.
I would rate Ben as being extremely untrustworthy, he did not turn up for our appointment. If he did not want to do the job he should have at least have had the courtesy to contact me, I waited in for him.
