"Nick is a hard-working and considerate worker, with some good experience - pleasant and reliable. I would have few doubts that he could take on most of the work he quotes for. However, this type of solid wood flooring was beyond his experience and we aren't too happy with some of the aspects of the finished job. Some cut-outs aren't level and the wood doesn't match. In addition he bought expensive laminate thresholds from B+Q (almost £50 worth) which don't do the job (he broke one in fixing) and I've needed to replace them with the standard metal fixings (£2.50 each - which is what he should have used in the first place). Some cuts into our surrounding woodwork resulted in minor damage and some stray pins are visible. Some cuts have left too great a gap and I'm struggling to fill these. So not great on solid wood flooring, and he admitted after a day's work that his experience didn't extend to this flooring, so do check his experience and get references before proceeding."
