Budget Under £500

Job Lay real wood flooring with underlay in bedroom. Bedroom is 4m x 2.4m and rectangular in shape except for built in single cupboard in one corner. Install edging between floor and skirting board and brass strip in the doorway at join with wood flooring in the hall. Existing floor is original wood floor. Room is in ex-local authority flat (4th floor). Job to be done between 25th August and 16th September (the earlier the better).

Job New laminate floor to be layed in bedroom 463cm x 267cm. Currently a fitted carpet is layed which needs to be lifted & disposed of. I will provide the laminate floor & beading

Budget Under £1,000

Job There are floorboards throughout the flat which is about 75sqm. I'm trying to get the lounge and hall way boards done. The lounge is 5.82m by 3.42m. The hallway is about 4.4m by 2.2m. They are currently covered with a carpet that I want to get rid of and sort of under-lay boards underneath which seem to come up easily. I can get them both removed though. I'm not sure how good the boards are. They seem ok, if a bit rough. The property was built in 1890, although I don't know if they are original - they are definitely there.

Comment We decided to get our lounge done in the end - it's about 25sqm. Kevin from the firm was very knowledgeable about what could be done and very accommodating when it came to meeting our requests. He is very personable and was happy to do exactly what we wanted and his team worked very hard to get the job done. He was also very good at keeping in touch and updating me as the job went on. Our floor dates from 1890 and needed quite a lot of fixing, patching and re-nailing, as well as all the sanding and staining, which was all done without any dramas what so ever. The results are great, I am delighted, the floor looks brilliant. He even came round a few days later and dropped some felt pads through our letter box for the furniture so the floor wouldn't get scratched by our chairs and sofas etc. The room has been transformed and I'm delighted.
