I need someone to remove the current vinyl flooring in my kitchen and bathroom, and replace it with a new vinyl (I've found the style I would like but have not purchased it yet).
Both rooms are quite small & L-shaped - the kitchen is approx 2.7m long and is mostly 1.2m wide although goes to 1.6m at the widest point. The bathroom is 2.1m long, 1.3m at the widest point but 0.7m for the most part.
In the kitchen, the only tricky bit of 'furniture' to move is the fridge, otherwise the room can be cleared. The new flooring can be cut around the sink, toilet, bath & kitchen cabinets. Both rooms lead onto the hall way which has exposed floor boards.
I would also like some advice on the floorboards - they're quite old, and there are some gaps and holes. They are also starting to splinter in places. I'd like to keep them but perhaps they need a bit of TLC!
Very good service from POD - very helpful when I had questions and were able to advise on suitable floor types etc.
They did a very professional and neat job at a very competitive price; the only let down was that they weren't very communicative when they were delayed at another job.
Overall would recommend them to others.
Fitting carpet and underlay in two bedrooms (one large and one small), hallway and landing (with 3 steps). Approximately 40m2.
Slightly uneven victorian pine floor in hallway - so hardboard covering required (around 15m2 worth). No furniture. Some grippers already in place (but floor is stripped of carpet and underlay).
I will supply carpet myself, unless you can get a matching quote from your suppliers.
Raj did an excellent job with my carpet. Very friendly and great to deal with, he was always prompt, gave good advice and did the job quickly and to a very high standard. His quote was reasonable too. Will definitely be recommending him to friends.
I would like to fit insulation under the floor of my living room. The room is about 3.5m x 7.5m into the bay. There is existing insulation in the form of panels (I think Celotex) between the joists but it is not tightly fitted on the edges and is not all that warm. I would like further insulation; something like wool or rock wool, stuffed into nets of some kind strung between the joists.
Is this a job you'd consider? I could organise for the purchase of the materials, as preferred.
Excellent. Bart and his guys came when they said they would, set up methodically, did a rather unpleasant job quickly and well, were very careful about spreading mess, and cleaned up afterwards very carefully. What a pleasure to deal with.
To fit and glue bamboo flooring over Phonewell sound insulation boards used as underlay. One bedroom (15 m2) and hallway (8m2) with beading/transitions and some door cutting.
Martin completed the job to a professional standard and was also able to start at short notice. It took slightly longer than estimated which meant going a little over budget but the most important part was achieving a quality standard finish which he did. Martin was also good to work with on the project and able to work flexible hours.
Very pleased with the job overall. Although Nick himself was unavailable on the day, the lads that came to do the job were pleasant and hard working and completed the work to a high standard. Recommended.

My side path running along house flank wall is currently concrete/stone slabs. It is uneven, cracked etc but also its worsening damp problems in lower ground floor as the path is not sloping away from the house and not sealed properly where it abutts the brick wall which forms the house flank wall. I need this fixed to improve the look of the path and to correct the water drainage issue. (In the budget section of this form I have not put anything as I dont know). Thanks Guy

Hi, I would need a tiler next week for a one bedroom flat. I only get the keys next week and I'm unable to show the flat, but I would like to get an estimate. This would be for approximately 45 square metres, kitchen, lounge, bedroom, bathroom, hallway. Tile size is 30x30cm. I could provide some photos.
Many thanks, Stefan

We have inherited original stripped wooden floors in the ground floor of our house (Victorian Terrace in Finsbury Park). The floor is varnished and has previously been filled with a combination of resin and wooden slivers. Parts of the floor are now bowed, and the fillings are very patchy. We want to re-fill with wooden slivers and fix a couple of broken boards. We need various gaps filled as the cold air coming from the cellar in winter makes the ground floor very cold. We're looking for advice and quotes to sort this out. The wood flooring extends to the front room ,the back room and the length of the corridor from the front door to the kitchen.
