To lay solid wood flooring in my flat throughout a hallway and two adjoining rooms. Not an exact measurement but I estimate the surface area to be about 65 square metres. Happy to be guided on the best flooring material but inclined towards light oak and want solid wood where what appears on the top is what the thing is made of. I'm really not a fan of that trim stuff that is used on skirting so would want it finished with the boards lifted and replaced. Thanks for reading

first, remove the existing laminate floors and then sand and varnish the existing wooden floors. Also, would like to check for woodworms and possibly eliminate them.
I initially retained Leon to sand and varnish my original floor. He advised against that due to high cost and recommended oak flooring throughout my 3-bedroom house. I ask a lot of questions, but Leon was very patient and explained which the best products are and was very helpful in selecting what I now consider an excellent floor (which in fact was provided by Leon himself) and the correct choice for my house. The floor does get easily damaged if you drop something or by furniture, so if you go for this option, you have to take a lot of care. The quality of the floor is very good. I asked specifically that it must not be squeaky and indeed it is not. For my next floor, I will be calling Leon again, and recommend him highly to his future clients. He has a good sense of taste for floors and is a reliable man.

The previous carpet has been removed. New underlay is in place. There are 11 treads to be covered. Each tread including drop is about 450mm and about 650mm wide. The stair case has a 90 degree turn in it over 3 treads. The total length of the carpet is about 5m.
I would definitely use Dave again. He rang on the day of the job to confirm he was coming. The job was done fast and to a high standard.

The area is a bit less than 2 metres square and has no fiddly pipes, basins or toilets to work around, it's a rectangle except for the slight extension at the sill of the door. The existing tiles will have been removed in preparation to provide a rough concrete starting point.
