Friendly, no fuss, clear communication, reliable, professional and reasonable priced quote (which he stuck to even though the job took a bit longer than expected), good quality work -definitely recommend and will use again for any carpentry or fencing work in the future.

We have a hedge made up of conifers at the bottom of the garden. They are currently very tall, approximately 9m. I would like as much as possible taken from the top of them so they are manageable size. Would like all waste to be removed. I have included a photo to show the size of the hedge, would like them cutting to be of similar size to the neighbours hedge.
Very professional job and good value too. Very large conifer hedge was drastically cut back and tidied up. We are pleased with the result.

We're based in Harpenden and have what can best be described as an unruly garden. We moved in late 2007, I hacked it back in late 2008 and am now heavily pregnant so in no fit state to do anything serious in it anymore. Even mowing the lawn has become a chore for hubby. It has lots of interesting plants (I suspect the old owners were garden centre addicts), many of which are quite mature. It's not an enormous garden but big enough. Back garden mostly lawn with some big deep beds full of shrubs and cover plants. Front garden patches of lawn, 2 beds and laurel hedge that needs trimming. Trees were all trimmed in the autumn.
Steve's a really nice guy and is great for doing the really heavy lifting in the garden. He has all the right tools with him and takes the rubbish away afterwards. Very focused on his work and gets things done. We're asking him to do other odd jobs now, not just gardening

We'd like an area of decking (approx 4m x 8m) replaced with sandstone paving as all the joists underneath are rotting away and the deck is now 'bouncy'. The area is bordered by railway sleepers, which we'd like to retain, so it would need hardcore filing/leveling and then paving on top. There is one tree in the middle of the area which would need to be paved around, but otherwise the rest is just a bog standard rectangle. We can either provide all the materials and just have someone do the actual paving; or get quotes to have the entire job done including materials.

We've just had some building work done on our house and this has ruined both our front and back gardens. Both front and back need a complete re-turf, with some borders put around the sides in the back garden. We also need a new fence on one side of the back garden and the side passageway completely cleared of all weeds/ivy etc. We may also want to remove a tree and shrubs in the front garden. We also want to do more work to our patio, with some steps put in. So both hard and soft landscaping needed.
