I am looking for a gardener to come to my house on Friday morning. I want as much done as possible including mowing, weeding, general maintenance but am looking for some quotes as unsure of hourly rates etc. The garden has not been touched since all the rain so is a little overgrown. I may maintain regular arrangement once it is in a more managable state.

This is a regular weekly job, all year. We will committ to an average of two hours per week, perhaps starting with a one-off longer stint. The tasks will include hedge trimming, maintaining shrubs and borders, ocassionally mowing and edging the lawns, leaf clearance and so on.
We agreed an annual contract with Local Gardener, with up to weekly visits, depending on the season. Three weeks in, we are impressed with the transformation of our established garden. Leslie is thoughtfull, hardworking and capable. We are looking forward to a long association.

we have a 8ft tall bush in our front garden and need this to be taken down and discarded off.

I'm not sure
Front garden - drive occupies 2 cars - so there is a 2 metre border on 2 sides including two small hedges/bushes which need tidying (6 metres max)- leaves and weeds need removing in the other space.
Back Garden - removal of weeds, lawn mow, and general tidy of plants. I would guess this space to be approx. 15 metres in length by 5 metres wide. Lawn occupies majority of this space with a 1 metre border of plants on 2 sides.
Thorough job done, would highly recommend.

Ian submitted a competitive quote for a fence repair and was professional in his approach to the work. He gave 2 solutions from which to choose and kept in email contact with me which was much appreciated as I live abroad. When the work was completed he sent a photo. I would recommend Ian for punctuality and politeness and quality of work.
