Job I need 3-4 tree stumps removed. 3 are the size of large dinner plates and one smaller (can get measurements of diametre). Side entrance has allowed a stump grinder to go through before, but realise that they are wide machines - so will also measure width of side access. I live in Chelsfield (Orpington) Kent.

Job I need a new boundary fence between me and my next-door neighbours. It will be six or seven panels and involves different levels because of steps down from the patio.

Comment First of all, I'd like to say I'm very happy with the fence itself and would certainly recommend Mr Stockton and his team in terms of workmanship. When I first contacted Rated People about my job, three companies including Challenge Landscapes were very quick to contact me and come round to quote. The other two were also quick to email their quotes but I had to chase Challenge. I chose Challenge because, although theirs was the highest price (marginally), I felt most comfortable with them and was impressed with Mr Stockton's manner and the fact that he brought a file containing photos of his work. As I work shifts I asked them to wait until I had a weekday off work so I could be at home and then contacted them with the date. Again, I ended up having to chase them for confirmation that the date was OK, and a few days before the work was due to be carried out, as I hadn't heard any more, I rang to double-check. I mentioned this to Mr Stockton and he said that, in each case, he was about to contact me but I beat him to it. The job was supposed to take one day but overran slightly. Because I had to be back at work I gave Mr Stockton a key to my garage so he could let himself in to finish off. Unfortunately he failed to lock the garage up again when he left and instead of putting the key through my door at no 28 he put it through no 18 (I rang him to ask where it was). I knocked at 18 and my neighbour told me she had put it through no 13 because that's what it said on the envelope. When I finally tracked the envelope and my key down it was addressed to Mrs French (not my name) at no 13 (which is on the opposite side of the road). He had also enclosed an invoice, as I had requested, which was also in the wrong name and for the wrong amount. Virginia

Budget Under £100

Job My garden needs to be mowed more often than I can manage it and the bushes need to be kept back. It's got a bit overgrown at the moment. Parts of the lawn slope steeply, which is partly why I don't mow it often myself. Any thoughts about cheap terracing would be good as well.

Budget I'm not sure
