"A deposit of over £2K was given on June 20th for materials with the promise that the job would begin within the week. There were to be four men working and the Owner promised he would be there every day to Supervise. There were many feeble excuses given and very poor communication as to why the job had not started. Finally on August 11th the materials were ordered and delivered the following day. Only one workman and one 15 year old actually worked on the job, the Owner showed up only 15% of the time. Fortunately the workman was a very good worker and I am pleased with the results which were almost completed on September 9th. Our estimate was said to include the VAT but on the final bill it had been added, I paid 50% of the VAT which I thought was very generous. The Owner is not easy to work with, he lost his temper and shouted when questioned about an itemised list of materials to account for the deposit he had been given."
