"This was a big job! Martin gave a good price and seemed very keen to do the job and came up with good ideas for designing the garden. The space was around 60ft by 50ft and involved removing a tree and 80 year old shrubs, building a retaining wall about 5ft high, gravelling the upper level and rotavating levelling and turfing the lower level. Sounds easy!! First Martin had to excavate for the wall footings. This involved digging out about 90ft of solid clay. Not an easy task. In went the concrete and up went the wall in no time. Looked fantastic and put my existing wall to shame. Next came the barrowing of 9 tons of gravel about 180ft from the front of the house, up the sloping garden to the top. We added the construction of a raised flagged area mid job using our excavated flag stones and this too looks fantastic. Martin then rotavated the area to be lawned and moved about 4 tons of additional topsoil into the area. Down went the turf to complete a totally fantastic transformation of our garden. Martin worked on his own for the whole job (except for a little help on the last day to put the turf down).This was a concern at first as the job looked too big for one man. We needn't have worried. What a grafter he is. From the moment he arrived, until he packed up at the end of the day, he never stopped. I got tired just watching him! The quality of his work is excellent, and he is highly skilled in building and landscaping work. He was always pleasant and happy to update on the job, and always left the area tidy at the end of the day. Would I recommend him? Absolutely!! Will I offer him more work? I'm aleady making a list of jobs! "
