"Ever since I came to this country all I heard were horror stories about rogue traders and jobs gone wrong. Imagine my apprehension when I had to get a builder for the first time to do a job in my house. Luckily, I came across ‘Rated People’! I needed a new boiler and my antiquated central heating and hot water system upgraded. The only thing I can say is: These guys genuinely, positively surprised me! I got a detailed quote telling me exactly which part was to come at which cost, there was no money to be paid upfront and the job started almost on time (a slight delay of a couple of days was my fault as anything else given that I left the decision almost to the end).
Once I had made my decision and the start date was confirmed, the guys turned up when they said they would and the job took exactly as long as they said it would. I felt that I always knew what was going on and that I was kept up to date about progress and next steps. Some of the decisions were taken as the job went along. Even if these resulted in some extra work to be done there was no mention of additional costs etc.
Wherever the job became dirty, protection was laid out and the mess cleared up right afterwards and the house was inhabitable each evening.
I am very happy with the job as it was performed and the new system does exactly what I expected it to do. The guys even had some time to support me on another small job I was doing around the house with advice and even with some professional help for which I was and am really grateful. All in all, I can only give this lot a big ‘thumbs up’ and should I ever have another job to do they will certainly be one of my first points of contact.
