Got the job done to a good standard but ended up having to pay more than original quote due to additional items scoped in by the tradesman.

I need a safety certificate for my gas boiler, and need to establish why it is regularly pushing a lot of water out of the overflow pipe.
Great service, friendly and efficient arrived on time and provided good advice on the problem.

Boiler keeps firing up and then cutting off every few seconds. Consequently all hot water taps/shower are cold. Sometimes the boiler stays on for a while and then the water is hot. The make of the boiler Glowworm Compact
Nice friendly person, was very pleased that he fixed my boiler with reasonable expense. Thanks Andrey

The existing pipework is there it just need radiators replaced in 3 rooms.
Andy provided a first rate service replacing our old radiators and was extremely helpful and professional throughout. We would not hesitate to use Alexander Plumbing and Heating again and would highly recommend their services.

Have old Baxi Bermuda back-boiler in the lounge. Coming to the end of it's life and would like something more efficient in the kitchen - preferably a Potterton boiler. Job would involve removing all the old hot water cylinder + tank.
Adam did a fantastic job removing my old back boiler from the lounge and installing a new combi boiler in the kitchen. I couldn't be happier with the quality of work and the new system works perfectly. The quote he gave was really competitive and he completed the job to schedule - I really can't recommend him highly enough.

We have a 6 year-old Worcester Green Star HE 35 Plus Combi boiler which is overdue a service - recently the hot water temperature is highly variable, ranging from too hot to too cold - if we run a bath with just the hot water on, instead of a very hot bath we end up with a luke-warm one. The central heating seems to be working fine. We would also like if possible for some of the pipes leading to the boiler to protrude less from the wall - see attached picture of piping underneath the boiler. We are in most evenings for quotes, but not during the day on weekdays unfortunately.
John did an excellent job. He is an experienced heating engineer and was very knowledgable about our Worcester boiler. We were confident in his assessment of the problem (having been previously told we would need a new part) and the boiler now works like new. He kept us well informed throughout. His price was competitive, he was puntual, hard working and friendly and he left the kitchen clean. I have no hesitation in recommending him fully.

Hi, Here is a summary of the job phases that we would like you to quote for: 1. Replacing heat-only boiler with Sedbuk grade A heat-only boiler. 2. Replacing radiator valves with TRVs ⿿ or is this a waste of time? 3. Possibly replacing old Myson convectors/radiators with proper radiators. JOB PHASE 1: We have inherited a (very old) Potterton Kingfisher boiler in our ⿿new⿿ 3-bed end-terrace 1900'ish house, which is about to give out. We would like to replace this with a Sedbuk grade. A (ideally floor-mounted) Heat-only boiler in the same location (in a little hut outside our back door). FYI: ⿢ British Gas have already replaced our controller with a new digital controller. ⿢ British Gas are also quoting for this work, but I don⿿t like their sales tactics (or half of the engineers we have been given)⿦or their own branded boilers. ⿢ Each of the 2 floors measures about 68m2 or 740ft2 i.e. 136m2 or 1480ft2 in total. ⿢ There are a total of 7 radiators in the house⿦and 2 Myson convectors/radiators (more on these below). We would like to know: 1. How much it would cost to remove the old and fit the new boiler ⿿ considering we are now in summer months when heating engineer jobs are low⿦and consumer spending is hitting an all-time low. 2. Which boiler would you recommend and why. We are especially looking here at boiler quality (e.g. steel vs aluminium heat-exchangers, and manufacturer tricks of having acidic condensate running through the whole boiler and corroding boiler parts) 3. At what cost could you get the new boiler (state whether inc/ex VAT). 4. Are you Corgi registered for boiler installations? 5. Do you do all aspects of fitting a new boiler? E.g. electrical work (installing thermostats etc around flat), plumbing, any masonry requirements (e.g. for any new inlet/outlet). 6. Does your installation include flushing? 7. What steps do you take before removing the old boiler? 8. How long would a typical installation take to complete (given that it will be replacing an existing heat-only-boiler)? 9. What combustion quality checks do you make after installation? 10. How will a new condensing boiler be different from your current boiler? 11. How did you choose the size and make of the boiler? 12. Will you receive any commission from the sale of the boiler? 13. Is there a warranty and what will it cover? 14. How often should it be serviced? 15. How will you make sure the plume is not a nuisance? JOB PHASE 2 & 3 (though these, if done, will need to be performed before boiler replacement): Also, we do not know the exact layout of the CH pipes but, despite ensuring that all radiators are bled etc and trying to ensure that there are no air-locks, there are radiators that remain cold. When we recently had a hot water solar installation, when they flushed the hot water system, there was a lot of gunk in the system. So I suspect that the CH system also needs to be flushed prior to installation of the new boiler. Either way, with respect to the radiators: 1. We have 2 (very old) Myson convectors/radiators which don't do much ⿿ 1 in the main bedroom and 1 in the dining room. We would like to discuss the options of replacing these. 2. The valves on the radiators are fixed and do not enable us to turn them off, so we're looking at getting these replaced with TRVs. Thanks and regards
Pawel and his chaps at GoldMedallion did a great job, and did it very quickly (once I got them nailed down to a start date (more later). Pawel's knowledge & his experience in industrial HVAC is excellent, and his ability to explain how to get your efficiencies and best quality parts in technical terms (which is what I wanted) and at length was great. His fully itemised quote (of tools, labour and activities) was great assurance though, rather than just a 1-line quote from other tradesmen (who are obviously hiding much). The only real niggles are: - Some of the valves and TRVs were not as spec'd but Pawel has given me his assurance that, if they break down, he will replace them, so he was docked a tiny bit on Quality for that, but would have got more on Value if I could have given him any more (already at max). - It took a long time to pin him down to dates (about 4-5 months). It started off because he was embarrassed that he had lost my specs and his details. It then didn't help that his car was broken into and his laptop stolen with all the details in it. He does take on lots of new jobs and slots them in back-to-back which can cause a little frustration when work runs over and knocks out his planned start date (not helped when his van broke down for a few days either). Again, he was very embarrassed about that and his team have been working their guts out with other jobs to get back on track. He has said that he will try not to take on so much work in the future, so that he can also slot in follow-ups. I don't mind that, he just needs a better job administrator who communicates proactively rather than the customer having to chase him down. Thankfully I am currently home-based so could be flexible, but I wouldn't have been so forgiving if I wasn't. I would certainly recommend Pawel and his Goldmedallion crew. A good, hard-working bunch, providing excellent value, only slightly let down by their scheduling. I will be using them again on my second property though.

Replacing gas boiler in 3 bedroom victorian terrance (3 toilets, 2 bathrooms). The current boiler is over 20 years old. At the moment there are the usual tanks / water cylinder supplying the bathrooms (including a negative head pump supplying a bathroom in a loft coversion). The job would involve a suitability survey in order to determine the most sutiable replacement boiler. If possible, we would prefer a combination boiler - in which case all tanks / pumps etc would need to be removed as part of the job.

I have a problem with scaling(sludge) in my boiler, so looking for someone who can flush the system. Also there is a problem with the heat exchange plate. So basically the boiler is working and heating and water is warm, however only the water in the bath tub does not get as hot as it used to. If you life close to me and this is something you can fix then I would be interested in receiving quotes from you. I have AA boiler cover but they say this part is not covered by them.
