Kitchen refurbishment and renovation in Chenies
"From his first visit to the completion of our extensive kitchen refurb, Jamie has been a real pleasure to work with. Always cheerful and courteous, with a nice sense of humour, he is also an experienced and knowledgeable builder and contractor. Both he and his superb team worked fast and to high standards. He has kept to his estimate both time-wise and money-wise. He had to come back several times after he'd finished the major part of the project due to late deliveries of appliances or kitchen cabinets, but he never minded and worked at weekends to finish the job. When problems cropped up, he solved them without a moan, and in fact one of his catchphrases is 'not a problem!', which is refreshing! And he understands the importance of communicating with his customers. All in all, we feel we really struck lucky and would recommend him wholeheartedly. Please note that we are neither friends nor relatives of Jamie's, and that we'd never met him before he worked with us, so this is an unbiased testimonial."

Kitchen refurbishment and renovation in Maple Cross
"Mick had a great 'Can do attitude' however he wasn't very communicative or good with time keeping! He kept telling me what he thought i wanted to hear....the job dragged on and on and i was frustrated at having to change my work arrangements / commitments because he couldn't just say " i'll need 3-4 more days to finish, sorry i mis-judged the time scale".
Instead, he'd turn up at 9:30-10am and say, "yep i'll finish today" and of course at the end of the day, he was no where near finishing and needed another day...
In the end, he still didn't finish, and we asked him not to come back....won't be using him again."

"Mick,
The morning you arrived at 10:30am was not a morning that you had to go buy the doors or parts, that was the last friday you were here! I understand the traffic situation, but most other buliders i've used start at 8:00am, so even with traffic - a 9:30am start is late. And you only stayed until 7pm because it was your last day.
My husband made the decision to pay you everything because he didn't want trouble - I can tell you that I wasn't willing to pay you for the full amount, because in my view you didn't finish the job! You say that you didn't quote for the celinig but we had discussed this at least twice while you were here, on the job and you never mentioned this. Again, no communication!
I said i understood about your holiday, and i do. If you had a holiday booked with your wife and son, then of course i can't expect you not to go- BUT, it would have been nice to have been told a few days in advance, rather than on the Tuesday, when you obviously couldn't finish up and i asked if you'd be here the next day to finish up, to which you reply, no i'll be in france for 2 days!
You said that you did the job cheaper and to a profeesional standard. I will admit your workmanship was good, so that is part of the reason i didn't complain and let my husband pay you the full amount. However, by the last friday, i'm not sure if you were rushing to finish up or you just couldn't be bothered, but the finishing was bad. The silicon sealing on the sides of the sink unit were about an 1 inch wide and thick, there is a cut in the lino flooring ( i think you may have dropped the door on it?) and the bi-fold door doesn't shut properly! I didn't mention in my first rating that the new sink unit was scratched or that one of the unit doors was scrathed. Obviously, i can't prove that it was you who scratched them, but if you want me to be truthful i will be.....
When you fitted the extrator fan, you didn't bother to peel away the plastic properly...so we had to spend the bank holiday weekend smelling burnt / melting plastic before we realised where the smell was coming from and my husband and i then had to try and dismount the fan , unscrew the panels and peel away the plastic that was still stuck to the insides!
I didn't want an argument with you and it probably wouldn't matter anyway, everyday i spoke to you with my list of what still had to be done and what wasn't finished , you just said - yep, it'll be done, yep i'll do it....so i didn't think there was any point. I thanked you for your work, but i know i didn't congratulate you on a job well done or ask you to come back. In fact we asked you not to come back to re-plumb the dishwasher! My rating wasn't untruthful and i apologise if it came as a shock to you, but i have reconsidered and given you more on value and quality for the work that you did do and complete."

"Mario and Viorel did a great job in double quick time. The Worktop Mitring alone was a work of art. Especially useful was Viorel's offer to collect some of the materils I had forgotten. When I need a new Kitchen I'll be going straight to Miltitrade Building Ltd."
