"A slow leak from a pipe hidden from view had caused major damage in our kitchen before it was discovered. As our house is the oldest in North Hertfordshire we knew we needed an exceptional builder with the knowledge and experience to carry out repair work in a listed building, as well as fit a new kitchen. I was glad to quickly find Rated People online and was impressed with the very prompt response we got from the builder who did our job. They even came out on a weekend to stop the leak and assess the damage. They were willing to tackle our awkward job even though other builders were loath to. Assured by good first impressions and great ratings we gratefully took them on. Barry was extremely helpful with our insurance claim, documenting everything with photographs and even dealing with the loss adjuster on our behalf. Barry is a take-charge kind of builder and for busy people like us with little spare time to get deeply involved with the design of the kitchen, it was well worth letting him guide us along the way. Our kitchen is an awkward space to work in, but all the difficulties encountered during the job were overcome with thoughtful, intelligent solutions. Barry and his team soon transformed what was a dark, dingy disaster into a bright and beautiful dream kitchen worthy of a showroom, yet still sympathetic to the character of our listed cottage. It has added tremendous value to our home. Realising what a gem we had found in this team, we asked them to do some more work that was badly needed. We were delighted with their 'no job we can't do' attitude. They redecorated our lounge to a very high standard, including laying new carpet for us. Chris even tackled years of neglect outside and in just a few days he had removed ivy from the cottage foundations, and trimmed back hedges, trees and shrubs that would have taken us weeks to do in our large garden. The transformation both inside and outside is breath taking. The men in this company are hardworking, diligent, grafters who have earned our respect and gratitude. They are worth every penny. They take pride in their work, get the job done quickly and they tidy up after themselves. They treat you and your property with respect and they are talented, reliable and trustworthy. We found them to be friendly, interesting and enormously likeable too. Now that we have discovered them, we have no reason to look elsewhere. They offer a truly fantastic all round service and we'll use them again and again. We have no hesitation in recommending them very highly."
