Unsold Job, Updated Details : I need the plasterboard/insulation removed and replaced with the new styled plasterboard that needs no insulation to keep the heat in my loft room and provide space for the air to circulate between the roof boards and the plasterboard. Not sure what else you will need except the new plasterboard and the removal of the old stuff. Work can be done now when the weather is not good for outside work. This is not a loft conversion as it has already been done years ago. Original : I hadmy loft converted, including the stairs, about 14 years ago but the plasterboard and uprights had been done about 20 years ago as the loft space had been used for storage and access was by loft ladder. I had stored my sons' toys, books etc in the eves space for the past 14 to 20 years. It is now time for them to bin, take away or give these to charity. On taking everything out all items are as good as new but the roof boards were damp. I had a recommended roofer in and he says it is the continuous rain that has caused condensation. I am sure there is more of a problem with the part of the roof that is hidden between the room plasterboard/loft insulation and boards that slates are nailed onto. Do I need to tear my room down, dry the boards and redo the plasterboard so that there is space left to let air travel through?
