Job Loft Conversion of 1960 three bedroom semi-detached property. South Glasgow Area. References essential (Glasgow area preferred) and fully insured. Full architect plans, structural plans and detailed spec available. Council building warrant already obtained and plans approved. Works to be carried out June / July / August 2011, by agreement. Basic Spec: Loft already floored and lined and has a Velux window with access to loft via a Ramsey ladder, to be replaced with a fully enclosed staircase. Existing lining will likely need stripped out and redone to meet building spec. Space for staircase to be created by utilising space from a lower bedroom, bedroom door opening therefore requires to be re-sited. One new Velux window to be fitted plus existing one replaced, power sockets, recessed lighting, standard paint to finish and bare floors (specific fixtures and fittings to be agreed). Central heating to loft (subject to current system spec allowing) inc two radiators. Separate optional price can be submitted for replacement water storage tank with options to move and replace tank to allow for better compatibility / maximise space with conversation.

Comment SJS recently undertook our loft conversion. First time for us on a project like this but from strip out to finished conversion Marco and his team did an excellent job and were at all times were very professional right from the first meeting for a quote. From start to finish Marco managed all aspects of the work including when there were a few hiccups along the way (not caused by SJS but due to planning / drawings etc). Very reassuring as there are always a few unknowns that crop up on any job. Always on time, kept us fully informed what was happening at each stage and work was finished as per spec and on time. Sometimes it’s also the small things like he cleared up at the end of each day and good communication via phone or text if needed and always got back quickly. Trustworthy as we work during the day and had no problems leaving Marco a key, in fact he started the strip out when we were on holiday. Good value quote and had no hesitation paying final bill. Would have no problems using again and would highly recommend. Steven

Budget I'm not sure

Job I am looking for quotes for a loft conversion. It's a Victorian mid-terrace with a fairly large loft space which I am looking to convert into one room. Key components required are: Architects plans, Staircase installation, flooring, walls, Vellux windows and electrical work.

Comment Brian came out to look at our attic conversion but ended up quoting for our new kitchen as well. I was initially very impressed by his attitude and advice. We were about to order a B&Q kitchen and Brian recommended Howdens with whom he had an account. Rather than wait 5 weeks for a flat-pack kitchen from B&Q, Brian advised that Howdens could deliver pre-built cabinets within days and the quality would be better. He was not wrong! Brian impressed us with his attitude, knowledge and advice. Nothing was too much trouble and he spent a good deal of time before we ordered the kitchen to ensure we were getting what we wanted. Our Kitchen was delivered at the agreed date and time and Brian arrived to start the installation as agreed. Brian is a good worker and gets on with the job. Although the installation did take a little longer than expected, this was only because he takes time to get it right first time (and we added a few extras along the way)! Brian is a very conscientious worker and cleans up after each day. The extras we asked for were not a problem at all and his excellent relationship with Howdens meant the extra parts required were with us the next day. Our new kitchen looks amazing and the installation is flawless. What impressed me even more was that Brian didn't ask for a penny until the job was finished. Overall a very professional service and I would highly recommend him. We will definitely be asking Brian back to do the loft conversion once we have plans approved. Derek
