Reviews of Metalworkers

Ferndale, SW9

Under £4,000
External dogleg stair case to begin from a small terrace leading up to a roof terrace. The roof terrace has recently been restored and is currently only via fire escape ladders accessible. The small terrace from where the stairs would start measures 2500 mm x 2200 mm. There is a window facing the small terrace and the first flight of stairs should finish above that window and then turn from there in a 90 degree angle onto the roof terrace. The height from floor to the top of the window is 1900 mm. The overall height from floor to floor is 3000 mm. I am looking for easy maintainable staircase with banister such as stainless steel or galvanised metal which does not require painting in the future.
It took some time to bring our idea across with some misunderstandings but in the end Gerome exceeded our expectations. Reasonably priced, excellent quality work, good time keeping and tidy. Gerome and his team are very polite and it has been a pleasure to deal with them on site during installation. Gerome is always available to discuss details and offers solutions during the whole process. He is very professional whilst being trustworthy and takes pride in his work leading to 100 % customer satisfaction.

Metal work

If you’ve got some work involving the installation or repair of metal fittings and objects, a metal worker is the person to call. Metal workers both create and install metal items in homes, and some also work on large scale construction projects.

What exactly does a metal worker do?

There are a number of different types of metal workers. Steel fabricators and fabrication companies specialise in creating finished products such as doors, grates and metal fencing. They may also make ornamental features and metal furniture utilising welds, bolts, rivets and a variety of skilled techniques. Sheet metal workers often work on site, and the metal jobs they do usually involve measuring, cutting, bending and otherwise manipulating pre-cut sheets of metal for a variety of purposes and then installing it. Such metal work can include installing and repairing ventilation ducts, metal roofs, guttering and other household items that can be made from malleable sheet metal.

Common metal working jobs

Common jobs undertaken by metal workers include a wide variety of activities, such as the creation and installation of iron gates and outdoor furniture. Some are highly skilled at creating decorative and intricately detailed designs that are as much for aesthetic purposes as they are for functionality.

Repairing or replacing sections of metal roofing, staircases and other metal fixtures also falls under the remit of a metal worker. These types of metal jobs will often be done on site by sheet metal workers, while those that require a lot of detailed work will often be carried out in a workshop prior to installation. Some metal workers will be more experienced in the functional side of the trade, and others more artisanal, so it’s best to check what kind of metal worker your contact is before commencing with the job.

If you’re looking for metal workers in your area that can carry out a repair or installation, simply submit your job today!
