The contractor who initially did the work in kitchen, bathroom and bedroom made a real mess of it, and I am looking for someone honest and reliable to put it right. If you follow the link I have provided below, it will take you not only to the photographs showing the problem, but also full explanations of each issue. Hope that helps. This was the original job, as posted on Rated People:- "Beautifully installed new bathroom now needs decorating to match (probably lining paper and paint). Re-installed kitchen (long story) needs re-decoration (paint and tiles). Master bedroom needs decorating (lining paper and paint). Certain amount of repair in all three rooms. We can discuss whether you would also like to quote to fit skirting board and hang new doors (to match others already installed) in two of the rooms, but this is not essential. I am trying to prepare the house for sale, so not looking to spend a fortune - I'm after a clean, refreshed look, finished to a high standard. I hope to save money by putting up with the mess in three rooms at once. You must have positive references and will offer the opportunity to see some of your work in other properties or, failing that, in your portfolio. I require quotes, not estimates. Payment will be on satisfactory completion, not in advance. I look forward to hearing from you. Mobile 'phone signal is awful for calls, but texts are fine and preferred." The original contractor did an appalling job, has declined to return and sort it out and is now in breach of contract. This does not mean a new contractor is affected in any way; I am treating this as a new job and the new contractor will be paid directly. It is then up to me to recoup my losses from the original contractor. I am seeking quotes to put me in the position I would be, had the job been done properly. This looks likely to mean starting from scratch and will include full cleaning to remove all paint spilled and splashed on furniture, fittings and carpet.
