Filling & smoothing over a 4 inch wide gap that runs up 1 wall, along the ceiling & down the opposite wall / making good where a stud wall has been taken down. Also making good the simple / modern plaster cornice at the top of the 4 inch gap. I have bought 2 bags of multifinish. I need the job doing ASAP - ideally this week & am at home everyday.

I made the mistake of asking a friend to do some DIY for me (putting 3 shelves up). The shelves were the 'floating' type without brackets and he used some sort of expansion bolt. I believe the wall is a stud partition but I'm not 100% sure. Predictably, the shelves did not stay up and are now hanging from the wall, one of them at a 45 degree angle (the others are not quite so bad). I can't get them off the wall because of the expansion bolts but the wall seems to be cracking and crumbling away where they are coming away from it. I'm looking for someone who can do some sort of cover-up job. Once the wall is patched up I'm aware that the room will need a fresh coat of paint, I would be willing to consider getting that done as part of the job if available. I'm aware that you'll probably need to see the damage before giving precise information but I would like to know a rough timescale for this type of work if possible, as I only have very limited time off work.

I'm not sure
3.5 metres wide, 4.5 metres long, about 3 metres high - skim layer coming of walls, needs to be hacked off and replaced. Would like a finish smooth enough to paint.
Excellent job by AJ and his team. Would recommend to anyone and will definitely use for future work.

We are decorating our hall, stairs and landing. We are taking the wallpaper down before painting. We have discovered the plaster is good condition in some places but in other needs repairing. I think a skim over the bad patches will suffice to provide a nice finish before we paint.

I have painted many walls in my flat but have encountered a problem with 2. For some reason after the paint dries it looks like there are some smudges on the wall. It is hard to describe but it’s as if some parts of the wall were darker than others, as if in those places the wall was of different texture, more porous. I have put many coats on; I have even put a “problem wall primer” but no change. I thought that maybe putting up a lining paper would help but the lining paper looked great until I painted it and then the problem came back. The strange thing is that these “smudges” can be seen from one part of the room but not that much form the other. I don’t really know what the problem might be and I think that maybe the best solution would be to skim plaster the walls. The walls are 2.5 m high and one is 5 m and the other is about 1.7 m in length Regards,
