I am doing up a house in North Oxford, a 1930s 3 bed semi as it happens.

I am just finishing off stripping off all the old wallpaper, and tiles in the bathroom etc.
I am now on the lookout for mainly skimming work, but also a bit of bonding and filling, to tidy up the walls ready for painting later.
The good news is there is no furniture, carpets etc to worry about - its a restoration project

If you could give me an indication as to your daily rate and availability that would be great PS Off street parking available

End of Terrace 3 bed house. To skim walls in each bedroom
Competitive price and was prepared to travel to look over the job. Did it within timeframes, and left a smooth finish on all the walls and is/can be a competent plasterer. Was let down by shortcuts which resulted in half the skimmed plaster blistering and breaking away from a wall when being painted. My guess is that a proper bonding agent wasn't used. Also dumped a couple of sacks behind the shed in the garden rather than taking them away - not great. Could have got a 5 star rating if these things hadn't occurred. As it was, we had to cover over with lining paper, which kind of defeats the object of commissioning the work, and make a trip to the dump with the used sacks/plaster. I wouldn't recommend this contractor for future jobs - better to pay a little more for a more professional finish.

3 patches. Two no greater than 20 cm long and a external (fireplace) corner
Great service all round and nice guys. For a small repair job they contacted me within the hour of submitting the job on Rated People, provide a quote very quickly and were able to be flexible with dates, even moved jobs to meet my needs. The repair looks great and they also repaired a cornice that was not quoted. Very impressed with the service and they left everything clean and tidy when then left!

We have removed tiles from our kitchen and need three areas patch plastering to a smooth finish up to kitchen cupboards and around sockets. approximate areas of plastering in millimetres as follows: 1300 x 640 mm 1800 x 1440 mm 1300 x 800 mm

plastering for two receptions (each room is about 4 m x 4.5 m size. Hallway 2m x 4m
Paddy did plastering on three rooms and hallway as well some other small work for us and has done an superb job. He is very reliable, trustful and easy-going person. He worked very hard and completed the work on agreed dates and then cleaned up after himself. Exellent value for money, we would not hesitate in recommending him.

Outside wall therefore requires patching and possibly painting whole wall with good quality weathershield paint (total area to be repainted approx. 25 sq.metres)
