I need someone to give me a quote to either :- 1. Cover up previous artex, and my attempts with polycell smoothover (not a good look - more rustic farmhouse). 2. Covering that wall with insulated wall board - drylining? 3. Whatever it takes for me to wallpaper it. My outside walls are all problem walls prone to grow mould. It's probably condensation, but it doesn't matter that I keep the windows open (year round) for a "through flow" of air, it still comes back. Was thinking that if there was insulated wallboard then the walls wouldn't get so cold, and condensation would hopefully not be such a problem. It is only one wall I need doing at this precise moment and it's not an entire wall, because there's an enormous window in it. I've done a quick measuring job and apart from besides and above the window, the area required is 9' by 3'4" - I'm old school and not much good with metres. I would be grateful if you could contact me offering the benefit of your advice.
The whole process of dealing with Mr Gibbs and his son was a positive experience for me. Their work was undertaken efficiently, I am very pleased with the end result, and they way they cleaned up afterwards. Contact was prompt and courteous. Mr Gibbs and his son were very careful about NOT letting out my indoor cats, and always closed the door when working outside. Require living room ceiling (6.5 x 3.7) to be skimmed. Over artex, so possibly 2 coats required, but 1 will probably suffice. Old coving needs removing / replacing after skim to ensure quality finish. Eventually I need every ceiling in the house skimmed so this could lead to additional work.
Excellent and efficient job carried out. I had a couple of snags that we're sorted out really quickly with no bother. Definitely going to ask Peter back to do the rest of the house now.

We are looking for quaotes for the following work: We have 3 ceilings (Living Room, Bedroom & Hallway) which have a textured finish which we would like them to be plasterd smooth.
We required 3 ceilings (large Dining/Living Room, one Bedroom & Hallway/Landing) in a 1950’s built semi-detached house renovated by skimming the previous artexed pattern to a smooth flat finish. During providing a competitive quote Dean was very courteous and listened to what we required and provided advice and recommendations which we found useful. On doing the work, again he was very courteous and arrived on the day and time specified. The work was carried out without any fuss and was done in a timely manner to a very high and smooth finish, expertly laid and pointed. Once dried and it was very easy to paint the ceilings and no sanding was required. We are very pleased with the quality and care taken in the work done and would highly recommend Dean Hawker for this kind of work. We will use Dean again for any future work. Thank you.

The room ceiling isn't that big, and neither is the wall, they are both medium size. The ceiling has some paint on it, where the previous paint hasn't flaked off.
