Budget Under £2,000

Job We are renovating a Georgian town house and most rooms need plastering on the walls and some ceilings. There are 7 rooms plus hall stairs and landings. As it is listed we are to use Hydraulic lime plaster only. We shall be starting with 2 bedrooms on the top floor but if we are pleased with the work then the rest of the house will need completing. If you can do this then give me a call to arrange a quote.

Job * Rendering and skimming of walls and ceiling on staircase and landing area * Plaster is thin and unstable in some areas (it is a 1900's property) * Ladders will be needed to reach tallest point of the ceiling * Approx length of total wall area- 14m 85cm * Approx height of ceiling at tallest point- 4m 23cm

Comment I am unsatisfied with the work carried out by [COMPANY NAME], who came to plaster my stairway and landing. The job was carried out very quickly which resulted in lack of attention to detail. The job was left incomplete, two walls were left untouched, and several other areas of the plasterwork look incomplete. A week after the job was finished large cracks have developed in areas of the plasterwork where the wood that was plastered on was not prepared sufficiently, and the plaster has dried too quickly. A great deal of wet plaster was left trampled into the previously clean, beige carpet (No sheeting was used to cover it), and also in the front garden where it has killed my lawn; this mess took myself and my pregnant wife 3 hours to clean up. I have attempted to get in touch with [COMPANY NAME] on several occassions to arrange for these issues to be rectified. Unfortunately having finally making contact with them, I have simply been given false promises of their return. I have now, after multimple attempts to contact them, given up hope of getting this work fininshed to the standard I had expected. I will not be using this company in the future, and would not recommend them to a third party. Ian
