"Jamie turned up and viewed the job which was as detailed in the photographs here on site. He quoted a very high figure for the work initially, but changed his mind to a realistic (but still representing over £50,000 a year pro-rata income) value for a days simple work doing some copper plumbing. He made an arrangement to be on site a week later at 0900hrs. During the week away from site he did not return phone calls and messages to his mobile. I was eventually able to speak with him two days before the job was due to confirm he would be attending on time on site as he had committed to. I was able to check with Jamie if he required any work doing for him prior to his arrival to speed things up for him. I was told that the arrangements in hand would be sufficient. On the day of the job I received a text message saying Jamie would be late on site. He eventually arrived two hours late. Our site project manager spent time with Jamie again, going through what Jamie had agreed to do, as did the assisting chippy. It was clearly understood by all concerned that the emersion heater and ALL it's pipe work needed to go to the other side of the adjacent wall or flush with the wall, as a bath would occupy the space left by the emersion heater. Sadly Jamie struggled throughout the day with his very simple pipe work, his soldering of joints was very poor. His bending and measurement work was equally poor. All in all the work he was able to finish was very shoddy. Jamie left the new pipes unlagged in the loft space they were in. Ludicrously Jamie positioned the emersion heater with its 230volt thermostat directly against the concrete block wall and inaccessible, thereby invalidating the installation for a Part P 17th Edition BS7671 periodic inspection, which is due on the property next week. ALL of the work that Jamie did has had to be redone by a professional plumber, not a single joint was found fit for purpose. Rather alarmingly Jamie on his original visit was asked if he was CORGI registered, he replied that he was a CORGI registered plumber, and that he could furnish his qualifications. At the time it was noted that no CORGI registration number was on his van. It has subsequently been noted that no CORGI registration number appears on his correspondence either. This particular job did not involve gas work, but it was clearly understood by all involved that whoever did this work would do further CORGI work on the back of this job. I and the site project manager feel totally mislead by Jamie and now question any of his qualifications to do any plumbing work, certainly based on his actual work it is hard to imagine that he is formally trained in plumbing. Lastly when gently questioned about the work he did and whilst being given the opportunity to put the work right and to fulfil his obligations, Jamie was extremely rude and aggressive. I could not in all honesty recommend Jamie to do any plumbing work under any circumstances. He did shoddy work, incorrect work, half the work he had committed to, and was rude and unreliable. He has not been paid for his time and will not be, and in fact he will be invoiced for the further work he has caused to be done by someone capable and professional enough to put right the damage caused by Jamie."
