"The job that John came to look at turned out to be an insurance job. Our initial meeting he quoted me a price that i was happy with and came back on time to carry out the work, where he discovered it was worse than he anticipated - service recieved upto this point very good. My opinion of John changed dramatically when he discovered my insurance company wanted me to use their builders and not Jhn. He tried to charge me £200 for a job originally quoted £150 on completion of work. I fear that if this ws a more vulnerable person such as an elderly person they would've paid him. It wasn't all bad as i have learnt a lesson in trade which is - investigate the problem to assess the damage. If it looks like a simple job call a tradesman - if it looks a bit tricky use your insurance as first point of contact to rule out getting screwed by someone like John. "
