Our downstairs toilet has a concealed cistern unit which gathers condensation and drips. Over the years, this has caused the woodwork at ground level and the skirting board to become rotten. The current cistern feed is approx 1 meter from the mains inlet (by Isolation valve) and I think the solution may be to take the cistern feed from the upstairs family bathroom which is directly above the downstairs toilet. There is an internal waste pipe that drops from the bathroom to the toilet, so the same route could be used for the cistern water supply.
