the mortar that holds the hip/ridge tiles in place on both our House roof and garage roof is weathering away. This is due to a an incorrect mortar mix when the house was built apparently (13 yrs old), a couple of other properties on the street have had the same problem.
I would like a quote to have the ridge/hip tiles all lifted up, cleaned of the old mortar and reset with new mortar on both the house roof and garage roof. I have estimated that the House Roof has 19m of ridge/hip tiles and the garage has 5m. If you Google search 'Redrow Pembroke' you will see homes with a similar style to our own home.
In the quote please include the cost of the scaffolding and the estimated duration of the work. Please also confirm if the quote includes the cost of any breakages of tiles during the work and their replacement.
I live in a Victorian mid terrace and have a problem with damp pentrating the disused chimney stack, as well as also penetrating some areas of the ceiling in one room.
We had an insurance assesor out to review it but are unable to claim as it is 'general wear and tear'. The issues that need resolving are some pointing on the chimney (and 'back guttering'?) and quite likely a new lining on the valley between the houses as this is in a bad state too.
approx 15metres felt ripped in place tiles slipped unsure to extend of work
Water coming in through roof (possibly through lead flashing around chimney. Small amount of water trickling in through roof and through ceiling
I'm not sure
ladders will be needed, the roof measures approxamatly 12 x 12 foot.
