Job New tiled roof to small side extension, single storey lean to measuring approx 3m long by 2.4m. Lead flashing also needed. Roof being pitched this coming weekend the 9th so needs weathering next week if poss. Price for labour and materials.

Job Updated : This is a repair. Joint is about 6 foot across roof. estimate 2 to 3 hours work and a couple of bags of ready mix mortar. Original : First floor bay window or Edwardian Terraced house, has dormer type tiled roof covering bay and linked to main roof. The jointed area has a concrete bond and waterproofing. Current seal has suffered weather and frost damage. Currently water running down main roof and entering under concrete seal bond. running down spur joist and dripping into roof space and through ceiling of bedroom below. Need for concrete bond to be raked out, made good, and new weather proof concrete seal bond cast. This should have been carried out a year ago. I suspect builder bodged the job just adding more pug to the damaged seal rather than raking out and making a new sound bond. Fine for a few months then leaks occurred again.

Comment Paid Ross nearly £300 to replace a couple of missing tiles, but other work was apparently needed. Accepted his advice had it done. However, had two leaks into bedroom which I did not have originally before his work. Have managed to get him back a couple of times, however after each visit he reports more damage to the roof. After more than 3 months I have a leak ten times worse than the original one and messed up interior decor!! Ihe is now asking for more money to replace damage tiles. Has even suggested I need a new roof!! Got another roofer to look (member of master craftsmen) and he said that ross the roofer should be shot!! Used gripfil to repair slates which is a diy/temporay fix. Not what any decent roofer would use. Also stated the roof is good for many years!! Stated that as long as there is less than 20% damaged, missing, loose slates then it is more economical to repair than to replace and that I currently have about 1-2%. Need I say anymore? graham
