I received a call within minutes of posting the job. Martin came round that evening to take a look and fixed the problem the next day even though it was snowing. He advised us also of a different problem with the roof and will come round tomorrow to fix it. We couldn't ask for more.

Updated : i have no idea how much chimney cowls cost so it's very difficult to estimate. I understand they are straightforward to fit and don't involve a lot of work. A long ladder would be needed as the roof is quite high. Original : we would like to get cowls put on two chimney pots
prompt, courteous, did a good job. But I should have hung on to get a second quote to compare labour prices, as i have never used roofers before.

Flat roof drains are causing spilling on to external wall leading to internal damp in first floor bedroom. Possibly need proper rt angle into hopper, perhaps pipe between two hoppers does not allow proper flow. Possibly pipe too small for job. This double hopper is situated above a two storey rear extension. This roof requires a slate to be replaced ( artificial slate). There is also a closed off chimney stack on this roof that needs pointing on our side. Stack is about 18 inches high.
I was very pleased with the way Mark handled and completed this job very promptly and to agreed price. I had a lower alternative quote but had much more confidence that Mark would do the job properly. He came to the house first to make a quote and then to do the work when he said he would and kept me informed throughout as I was not present. He worked well with my tenant who was also very happy with what was done and thought Mark and his co-worker were efficient,effective and thoughtful. The job turned out somewhat bigger than hoped as a small section of flat roof had to be completely replaced. This was by agreement prior to commencement and it was evident once the old roof was removed that their assessment and advice were correct. It has not rained since but the wall is drying out. Mark has guaranteed the work and I am confident he would return if there was any problem. I would definitely use them again.

Been good to deal with. Quoted quickly, stayed in touch, showed up and got the job done quickly. A small building company, but nice blokes. Were happy to negotiate and tailor the job to suit me and kept all the work within budget. There is a gap in the top floor guttering, a plant blocking the first floor guttering and an overflow pipe on first floor that's pouring water down the wall. All need to be repaired.

There are three aspects to this job: - clean and maintain plastic guttering on the house (small mid-terrace). I think there is at least one area where the plastic guttering has broken and needs replacing. - clean flat areas of roof on top of loft conversion (between sloped roof and outside walls), which fulfil the function of gutters as they direct water flowing off the main roof to the downpipes. There is a build up of leaves etc. in these areas. They can be reached out of the skylights in the loft conversion. - we suspect that water is getting in from the roof through some combination of inefficient drainage and the flashing needing repair/replacement. There is evidence of dampness in both our and our neighbour's first floor bedrooms at the front. We need someone to check how this is happening and make the roof good again.
