i have a ceiling leak under above the bay windows on the ground floor
Steve is a very good trademan. From my initial telephone conversation, he promptly arrived at my home and gave me a detailed diagnoses of the leak in my property. I agreed the works with him and he started on my roof, porch and front exterior wall. He kept me up dated with pictures to my mobile phone whilist the works was going on (on request). We liked steve's work and his approch to his customers, he is polite, clear and happy to accomodate your requirements. WE WILL BE 100% USING S C ROOFING AGAIN

Replace/repair flat roof on rear extension.
The job was carried out to an excellent standard and both Steve & Dave were polite, easy going pleasant guys. The job was completed in one day and they did exactly what they said they would in the quote as well as a few extra bits not originally planned and still charged what was originally quoted. My property was left in a clean & tidy condition and the new roof looks great. I would not hesitate to recommend Tompkins Roofing to anybody and I am hard to please. I will be using them again.

Steve called the very night I logged the job to arrange a quote. He provided a very good quote for the required work (and additional items I requested). He completed the job efficiently and was a very good tradesman to deal with. I would not hesitate to use his services again and am very happy with the work he carried out. Very nice chap and provides a great service.

The roof timber in the loft near the chimney is damp. I'd like this investigated and repaired.
Came over to quote the roof repair job and I said I'd call him to arrange a time to carry out the work. When I called back the next day he said he'd been over to my house whilst I'd been at work and had done the job already. He emailed me some pictures for the work he'd done to my chimney, so I had no choice to pay even though I was not thoroughly convinced that the work had been done. When I checked in my loft a month or two later the leak was still evident. I tried calling but got no reply. After lots of trying I finally got though. He arranged to come over and put things right but didn't show up. I had to write off the money I wasted on this.

Fixing leaky flat roof on bay window.
Quite pushy when quoting to fix my leaking roof. When I asked for time to think about it was told that he needed to start the work right away or he wouldn't be able to do it. I should've said 'no' at this point but agreed as the quote was very low and I needed the roof to be fixed as it was a couple of days before christmas. Fixing the leak in the roof seemed to be done in a very rushed manner. As it started to get dark he carried on working anyway rather than offering to come back another time in daylight. Around 10 days later the leak returned but worse. When I called up to say so he said he would call and come back the next day. I have since heard nothing. Meanwhile I have had a proper roofer to do the job and had to write off the money I lost to this guy. From this experience I would say that this is someone who will take your money, do a poor job, and not care about putting things right.

The current extension is 10 years old plus and the red felt has split causing a leak. It is urgent but we dont not want to get ripped off. The red felt and gravel stones, which covers an area of 20-22 square metres, has to be replaced. We want 3 layers, a vented layer, a bitumen layer and a felt layer. The felt should be high quality and should stop moss growing. The lead flashing is in good condition so that should not be replaced and a bit of the guttering has to be boxed up instead of the current tape.
We had 6 quotes for this job but Gary spent an hour explaining everything clearly and didnt pressurise us into choosing him unlike other tradesmen. It was reassuring to phone up his references. The weather didnt help but Gary was patient and did a good job. We hope this roof will last for 15 years. The price was good because it included insulation. Overall we are pleased with the job he has done and he was a tidy worker.
