my kitchen is built in an extension with plasterboard cavity walls. There is a gap in the plaster underneath the sink which is causing a serious draught in to the house. it appears that there is a gap in the floor or the brickwork that is letting in cold air behind the plaster to such an extent that the pipes froze last winter. i am looking for someone that can fix the source of the draft or do something to prevent the draught escaping in to the house

the job is laying a new patio over an existing grasses area to the rear of the property. we have block paving to the side entrance of the property but are favouring slab paving at the rear garden. there is a snall concrete pathway that will need to be taken up

Re-laying part of brick paved driveway to improve drainage. Drainage channels have been put in, but driveway has sunken area where water is pooling rather than running off. This is next to one of the exterior walls, so we are concerned that it will cause damp in the wall if not corrected. Area to be re-layed is probably approx 3-4 square metres.

The outside wall of our living room is covered in damp patches. All around the chimney breast, and on the walls either side. We think there may be diffrerent causes for the damp in the different areas. We think the damp on the chimney breast may be caused by a problem with the chimney possibly so we would like the chimney checkd out also. Once the cause for all the damp has been found we will probably need a damp course put into the walls.

I live above a local stores shop in Eton. The shop powers its fridges with a Marstair condenser unit that is situated on the flat roof outside my bedroom. This is annoyingly noisy, and I have secured permission from the shop owner to have the unit relocated (at my expense) to a low-level, wall-mounted situation at the back of the shop, which would help with noise issue. This would involve moving the unit, the power cable and the pipe work, and wall-mounting it in the new location. I have also purchased from Marstair a simple sound-insulation kit for the unit that I would like fitted at the same time - some adhesive foam pads to go on the inside of the unit panels, and a foam sleeve to slip over the unit compressor. I am happy to help with the lifting of the unit (and any other assistance) if that will make it a one-man job.
