We had a survey done on our property, and need the following repairs carried out:-
Damp proofing
Repointing
Chimneys
Repair upstand
Replace lintel
Repairs to walls
In addition we also need the lead valley replacement.
So far we've had a cost estimate (minus the lead replacement) of £3500.
I can provide more details from the survey, but would ideally like all the outside repairs done around the same time.
Dale and his team carried out re-pointing work, lead valley replacement and chimney stack re-build on our Edwardian house. They were professional and reliable throughout the work. Dale kept us regularly informed of progress and of any additional work required, even making arrangements with the neighbours when work was required on the shared chimney stack.
Would not hesitate to use them again for future projects.Andy
need a new driveway - to replace old concrete one. Looking at options other than blockwork as well to reduce cost. Garden extends across entire front of bungalow and there's already a concrete driveway.
Paul has done a great job removing our old staircase, replacing it with a new one, creating a landing, installing a velux and dealing with electrical installation and plastering work. I was very pleased to have one point of contact who could co-ordinate all of the work whilst i was at work. Paul was always reliable, on time, work is of a high quality, and would definitely recommend him. Subsequently had a slight problem with a split in a small bit of handrail, but he has come out and is replacing no problems! Very happy with the service received.Jane

SW Trading have completed several pieces of work for us now, both internal and external. We live in an old house which has cob walls and SW Trading have completed all repairs using traditional methods and materials in keeping with the property. SW Trading have taken care of all aspects of the work, including scaffolding, roofing contractors etc. They were very proactive in helping us deal with some unforeseen problems, which were handled in a timely and cost-efficient manner. We have been very pleased with all of the work completed and would thoroughly recommend them to anyone. angela

I need scaffolding at the rear of my house, over conservatory, to access first floor wall for cavity wall insulation. I was told that the insulation work can be done in few hours. So I expect the scaffolding will be needed just for a day. This scheme is through British Gas and will be done in January 2013.

Updated : It's a one bedroom flat on the ground floor and there is a dampness inside. We need to dry the walls and I there is a lot of black mould on 3 internal walls.
Another work is outside the flat, where the walls are damp and we need to inject DPC.
So, the size of the work is quite extensive. We can do it in 2 stages. The most important is to sort out the bedroom internal walls .
We need two quotations for the Insurance and the contractor to start as soon its possible.
Original : Damp in the ground floor walls outside and internal walls with mould and damp in the bedroom, it's a one bedroom flat,

The house is a 200 year old railway worker's cottage in Exeter. It is a semi with brick walls apart from the back wall which is lath and plaster. There is damp on this wall. I don't knwo if the problem is with the wall or with the damp course on teh floor or whether the property is not being aired sufficiently, as this was previously a problem on an internal wall in a different room.
