we have damp all of the way across one wall in our living room going onto another wall, there is also some damp in our bathroom but this is only a little bit and there is a little bit in our bedroom.
this is all rising damp as far as im aware.
the area all together will probably be no more than 10 metres in length.
we have had a quote before but have found this too expensive for the work that needs doing, we dont have mass amounts of money as this is our first house and we are still trying to sort our finances out. we will happily pay a reasonable price for the job but not over the odds.

My son is having has his band rehearsals in our garage. Now before I start getting complaints because of the noise, I would like some quotes from tradesman for the sound proofing of our garage.

Dampness is found to be affecting external walls. It may be due to rising dampness through a wall or floor. This may be due to absence or deterioration of a damp proof course. There is also dampness to the wall due to damp penetration caused by water leaking. There may be more dampness in the flat. It needs a thorough check throughout.
Sub-floor ventilation is inadequate, and more airbricks are needed. The condition of the timbers underneath carpets need to be identified.
