Updated : Roof void area to be insulated is approximately 12 x 18ft and is our main priority.
Side extension is 26 x 16ft. Original : We are looking to insulate two areas of our house - firstly on our top floor in a roof space above our bedrooms, and secondly above our single-storey side extension (which is combination of sloped/flat-roof).
The roof void above our top floor bedrooms is currently inacessible from inside the house (i.e. no loft hatch), so we are considering either having a loft hatch to this space and then using standard loft insulation, or using another thermal insulation board to fix to the existing ceiling.
The replacement insulation for the side-extension (I guess) is likely to require either re-boarding of the ceiling, or re-laying of the roof dependent on what methods exist for achieving this.
