We have just bought a 3 story Grade 2 listed house in Cheltenham. The Survey has not revealed any rot or woodwoom. However there are NO timber guarantees and the surveyor has recommended getting an inspection. I have looked myself in the roof spaces and can see no evidence of a problem. We therefore require timber inspection for Woodworm and treatment if any is found before moving in.
Arrived to do a survey on time and stuck to price for the survey. But had to pay before survey released, but survey report not clearly address issues of concern and took a few weeks to arrive.

Downstairs toilet - suspect may have damp. Walls/plaster work are very uneven and skirting boards were rotten when we removed them. We were going to replace them but there was such a smell of damp that we need to seek professional advice. House was built in 1906.
Graham from IMS did a great job on our downstairs loo which needed a new DPC and re plastering etc. IMS were professional,polite and trustworthy -especially important as we have 2 young children. Graham answered all of our questions and we are extremely pleased with the final result. I am sure we will use them again and could not recommend them highly enough.

We've purchased a gas fire, mantlepiece, surround and hearth. We have a suitable brick chimney. We need some bricks removed to make the existing hole slightly bigger for the new fire and need the hearth, surround, mantlepiece and fire installed. The hearth and surround are granite and the mantlepiece is MDF and has come with attachments.
They did a great job in getting the fireplace ready for connection. I would recommend to anyone.

We employed him for his professional skills in timber treatment and plastering but then discovered he was extremely skilled at all aspects of the building work, knowledgeable about finishes for a grade 2 listed house, easy to communicate with and employed a skilled carpenter where necessary. We were very lucky to find Nick to do the work on our house and highly recommend him.

Hello, I have just bought a new ground floor apartment with a converted brick basement that is used as the bedroom. It was 'damp proofed'' about 10 years ago but there is fairly significant damp now coming through 3 of the walls and 'readings' of damp from the floor. I would like a quote to re damp proof the room. I know there are a variety of different methods to use but I was thinking about having a cavity drainage membrane put in with sump pump etc. I am, however, open to other solutions. Size of room is 3.23m x 4.14m. Preference for 10 year min guarantee. I appreciate that more info is required for accurate quote but an estimate quote or guidance of costs would be really useful for now before i arrange viewings. I ideally want to spend 5k on the work but any advice on costs is appreciated. Thanks Simon
