I own and live in a 1930’s 2 bedroom, 2 story, mid terrace house with solid red brick walls in south Belfast.
I have the following problems with my house;
1. Water penetration through the house’s rear walls, with brick and grout deterioration including salt formation on some bricks. This has caused damp and paint to fall off internal plaster in ground floor kitchen and rear room, with relatively new kitchen cupboards unusable due to musty smell.
2. Internal Rising Damp in corner and blocked up chimney breast of rear ground floor room, up to 0.5m above skirting board with paint flaking off plaster. (The walls have not previously been drilled and injected as per some neighbouring properties.)
3. External Plaster falling off back yard boundary walls and flat roof sheds’ internal walls. (Looks like a mixture of red brick and old painted plaster below.)
4. Leaking concrete flat roof on the flat roof shed rendering it un-usable.
I am requesting proposals and quotations to resolve all of the above detailed problems. Viewing of the job is available as required. Upon agreement, ideally I would want work to commence as soon as possible.
Thanks in advance for your response.

Unsold Job, Updated Details : This is a very simple handle to the outside of an elderly ladies property. We would need a handle provided.
There is already a rail in a built in wardrobe it just needs turned horizontally across rather that back to front as it is now.
I do not think these jobs would be very complicated. As the lady is elderly we would hope to keep the cost down as far as possible but would pay a fair price for the work. Original : I need someone who can fit an external grab handle to a property, also turn a clothes rail in a built in wardrobe.

Ground floor of 3 storey terrace house suffers from rising damp.

Rising damp. Failed damp course along one 8 foot long wall. Damp rises highest in corner where 8 foot high yard wall meets house wall, so yard wall might also need a vertical damp course.
Internal party wall, 9 foot long, leading from same corner also has visible damp and probably also needs treatment.
Would like damp expert - no contractors, please - to look at affected areas and quote to inect chemical damp proof course as necessary. (Posted this job last week, but would like two more quotes before deciding.)

Updated : Hi, We would like the fire surround (wooden, Victorian style) and hearth (slate) in our living room removed, the chimney sealed and a vent installed if required and the grate plasterboarded over, ready for decorating. There seems to have been a gas (bottle) fire in the grate at some point, as there is a pipe for it. Thanks. Original : Hi,
