We would like to recommission our fireplace in our lounge to become an open fire. At the moment it is currently a decorative hole in the wall and there is no hearth or fireplace. We think that the chimney is good order.
Didn't clear away the rubble as he said he would, tried to charge more than he quoted and the poor draw of the chimney / fire is partially due to the fact that the size of the fire place compared to the chimney is too large and we were not made aware of that. Otherwise a nice chap, worked well and all very promptly done.Toby
We have a chimney that was built for a small gas fire. We changed it to an open fire for coal and had problems with smoke coming down the chimney. We raised the chimney pot and had an anti-downdraught cowl put on but it still smoked. In desperation we changed back to gas temporarily but we would like someone to come and have a look at the chimney and see if it can be improved so we can go back to coal.
Gas management provided a quote and were very helpful and informative but I have not yet had the work done so cannot rate the finished product.clare

Hello there, we are in the process of purchasing a victorian property on Kempshott Road in Horsham. We have had a survey done and there is high levels of damp coming up on readings and the surveyor was not sure if there is a damp proof couse there or not. It will need more air bricks putting in and a solution to the rising damp.
The kitchen floor is concrete without a damp proof course at all, and will need to be relaid and a damp proof course put in.
We would like someone to come to the property with us and go through what they think may need doing and provide a quote please.
If you think you can help, ideally this Saturday would be great, but please let me know if you could do a quote this week.
