Repair of crumbling sandstone chimney stack (external), now causing some leaking inside the house. This is a large feature of a house built in 1962.
This started out as requiring repair of large crumbling stone chimney stack, causing some leaking inside the house. Response, quotation and starting the job was almost immediate. They identified the problems straight away and did a thoroughly professional job fixing everything - reliable, pleasant and always turned up when they said they would. While here they offered to clean all moss off the roof and replace any tiles - we went ahead, and again an excellent job. Tidying up very good too.

I have a front garden to finish off. A new brick wall needs coping stones laid on top. About 5 metres of wall to cap. And a new step and stone footing to be laid on a path. The step will need to be rebuilt with some new brick-work, before cutting a one-piece slab of portland stone to the right shape and laid on top. The stone has been ordered and will be here on monday. The tradesman will need to source mortar and grouting as needed, and to seal the stones with an appropriate sealant. Advice can be gathered from the stone supplier.

FRONT OF HOUSE MASONARY RESTORATION JOB 1: On the front corner of this semi detached Victorian, the masonary appears as corner stonework but is in fact concrete along the full height of the house and is crumbling. JOB 2: Removal of masonary paint is also revealing cracks which require attention. JOB 3: Repair damage to the external wall which is causing damp to an internal wall. This may be associated with JOB 2 and may also require fixing of a row of tiles on the top of a wall 20cm x 200cms (approx) The owner is in the process of stripping layers of very old masonary paint and these problems require attention.
