Reviews of Stoneworkers & Stonemasons in Pudsey, West Yorkshire

Quotes sought for overhaul of modest front garden in Pudsey. Work required: Removal of paving slabs/blockwork 'parking area' (approx 6x4 metres area – slightly under due to front porch). Very narrow sloped area of concrete/odd paving slabs (approx 30cm) at edge of parking area onto lane will also need to be removed and patched (Minor element but mentioned for completeness). Assume this was added at the same time as the paving to make bumping the car up easier. Building of garden wall (approx 3.5 metres). Essential that new wall is in-keeping with neighbouring garden walls which appear to be old brickwork faced at the front in stone (old stone – not modern stone cladding) and capped in stone. Slim stone step might be needed near gate due to slight slope (happy to be advised) New wooden gate required/to be fitted Installation of garden path (approx 1x6 metres) Stone setts/cobbles (may need to consider sympathetic modern equivalent -although reclaimed definitely preferred so would be helpful if able to quote for both) Topsoil & Turf (optional – would be helpful if this was included but is something we could do ourselves if not your area of work)
Very happy indeed with the hard landscaping work carried out by Andy on our garden. The job consisted of: removal of existing paving slabs; building of garden wall faced and topped in reclaimed stone; installation of garden path using reclaimed setts. It was important to us that the new wall and path were in-keeping with neighbouring properties. Andy made helpful suggestions such as using dye in the mortar to create an aged effect and adding a stone step - overall effect is superb.

We have noticed during the winter, that the stonework has become flakey and is starting to fall off in chunks. There also appears to be some water retention in the stone itself. We believe the walls may need re-pointing on two sides of the house.
Alex did a fantastic job of re-pointing our house. He was very professional, punctual and completed the project efficiently within our deadline. Even working weekends and bank holidays to achieve this. Alex is friendly, reliable and obviously very passionate about his work. I would highly recommend Christminster Masonry and wont hesitate to use him again.

New stone wall needed in back yard across the entrance to the yard and up part of one side of the yard. I also need a wooden driveway gate. The wall needed is approx 3.7 metres long and 1.5 metres high. The gate 3m long and the same height, I don't have the materials.
