Immersion heater broken and needs replaced. The problem:
It's completely walled in and I don't even know where exactly it is. It's heated via a smith motor timer.
Also, washers in cistern need updated, but that's not that important just now.
Great work. Job turned out to be much more complicated than anticipated, but Ray (EMS Plumbing Contractors) organised a joiner and electrician and kept me up-to-date throughout.Claudia
Hi there.
I'd like to get a plumber's help to do three things:
1. Replace my old Mira shower with a new Mira (or equivalent). I currently have a Mira Supreme, and Mira themselves have confirmed no direct replacement is available. From what I'm told, it means the pipes/cables are likely to need shifting. I would take your advice on the replacement model.
2. Replace two steel-panel radiators - one in the bathroom, one in the lounge. I plan to keep the sizes the same as the ones installed, so I'd expect the existing pipes to remain in the 'right' places.
3. Plumb in a dishwasher connection directly next to the washing machine in the kitchen.
If you are interested and able to quote for this work, please do get in touch.
Thanks.
Kevin
Stewart installed a replacement electric shower, two replacement GCH radiators & plumbed in for a future dishwasher.
I'd definitely recommend you consider working with Stewart for your plumbing (and other?) needs. Very thorough & competent, he patiently answered my questions & made his recommendations.
Now I have a shower that works & two radiators that really push out the heat! (We'll see about a future dishwasher.)
Cheers Stewart!Kevin
We had a new bathroom installed a few years ago and the shower has always been a bit slow to drain when you first turn it on. The tray will fill up for a while and then eventually it will start draining at a normal speed and empty out again. But lately it has gotten worse, and it's filling up so much the tray overflows. It takes much longer for the draining to speed up again. The sink has started getting slow to drain lately as well, so I don't think it's a clogged drain. Perhaps something with the waste pipe or how it's all connected?
We are in a third floor tenement flat.
Timing: ASAP
Quickly sorted my drain problem and recommended what to use to keep it from happening again.Kate
I would like a quote to move a radiator along a wall. Staying on the same wall, but moving along a metre or so.
Also have a valve leaking from a boiler pipe.
Friendly, polite, on time. Did the job (moving 2 radiators) fine, but I was not happy with the state the floorboards were left in - one is now sitting proud & creaking loudly.
But what annoyed me most... I asked about fixing a dripping tap, he said it needed a new ceramic disc which are 'impossible to get hold of' so best option would be a whole new tap, which he'd fit for £55, if I bought the tap (online prices £200+). However did my own research, ordered a part, and fixed it myself - total cost £12... Emma
It was for a rented property so I cannot tell the quality for myself but my tennant seemed happy enough. Very reliable and kept me up to date by text.Nicola
repair toilet as the cistern keeps letting water run into the toilet it is not through the overflow at the top of the cistern the toilet looks like an original feature of this victorian flat and I do not want to change it but would like it repaired

Shut off hot water pipe for washing machine ( new machine is cold inlet only).
Had hoped to just screw on a cap but, after disconnecting the old machine, there seems to be a slow leak coming from before the shut off valve for this hot water pipe.

Hi,
I'm looking to get a quote to install a shower in my bathroom and also costs for tiling and installing the shower curtain. There is just a shower attached to the bath at the moment so the costs should include installation of a new shower and also the shower unit. I have a combi boiler at the moment so not sure if it would be attached to that?
Thanks

I have been told there is a small leak coming from a pipe connected to a mains water tank in the communal loft of my top-floor tenement flat in Leith, Edinburgh. Roof insulators were in last week to do a job and told me about it. They suggested it is a quick and straight-forward job, but it probably requires a plumber with a ladder.

A leak has ocurred in the flat below, directly below my bath. I suspect the waste pipe from the bath has come loose but also some grouting has come loose from the shower. I only moved in to the flat 2 weeks ago. The bath panel unit has been tiled, so it will require removal.

Currently my bathroom in awaiting dry rot treatment but want the waste water pipe exit dropped to (ideally) below floor level. Tiles and plaster have been removed but need to understand the work needed to lower the height of the external exit pipe. Thanks.
