Unsold lead, updated details: The pipes make a loud noise about 3 minutes after the toilet is flushed. I don't know what is wrong with the toilet and would really appreciate someone who would be able to fix it. There is no blockage or flooding. There doesn't seem to be anything else wrong with the toilet. I can't give a budget coz I have no idea what is wrong and how much it should cost. Original: The toilet makes an awful noise when flushed, something to do with the pipes. It's very disturbing and loud and I'd really like to get it fixed asap.
Also we had a plumber in to fix the boiler (he had installed it) and he never came back to finish the job, would also be interested in getting this done too.
Josh came round the same day and managed to fix a load of problems with the toilet. He was capable and lovely.
We have a dripping overflow pipe (above the second floor bedroom, in a Victorian property). It's dripping outside most of the time but not all the time. Water not coming out of the pipe but out of the wall next to the pipe (so suspect pipe may be cracked).
In the loft there are 3 tanks. An empty one, a half-full one and one that I can't get to.
Ideally I would like leak stopped, and any redundant tanks removed. House has sealed (Vaillant) central heating system I believe.
There is an area in the loft which is not accessible (would have to construct a trap door from the bedroom up into it) and it's possible that there might be another tank there.
Martin was clear on the phone about possible solutions that would be required, came very punctually, and after investigation explained clearly what the problem was (faulty ball cock in an inaccessible tank that will need a redundant tank to be removed). Martin is returning at a suitable time to drain the redundant tank and remove it, thereby allowing him access to the underlying problem.
Just moved into house and no hot water. Cold running fine. Boiler does seem to start up fine but no hot water coming out of tap
Had to come back 3 times to sort various problems which he did efficiently and for a decent price I thought.
Very personable so good customer service
Punctuality not perfect but ok but its kind of what you expect really
Overall would def use again
Heating stopped working and a few days later hot water has stopped working. Boiler is clanging loudly. 5 year old boiler and new tank and pump etc. system was flushed 3 years ago after original plumber didnt put corrosion fluid in. Need a plumber quickly. Hackney area.
Quick, very hard working, super knowledgable. Did a big horrible dirty job at very short notice. Gas safe so also got my yearly gas check sorted too. Will use again.
We have two jobs. One being a shower that somehow leaks through the ceiling to downstairs and is causing some major damage. We had someone who looked at it before and he just replaced the shower head. We believe there is a cracked pipe.
The second is a clogged sink. We've called a guy out before who put super strength acid down but it still clogs. It fills up everytime the sink is on for more than a few seconds. The guy said the problem goes outside the house and might be a build up of fats and oils in the drain.
We desperately need both of these fixed but are looking for the best price scenario. Call and let me know a quote or hourly rate.
Alan was great. Fixed two recurring problems in the house previous plumbers couldn't. Gave a reasonable quote upfront and stuck to it. Stayed as long as the job took to get done and done well. Even spotted another serious problem whilst there and came back in the evening to fix. Would highly recommend using Alan at Cross Spear.
Hot water pipe feed to the bath is leaking via a joint. This is not an emergency so we do not need responses over the Christmas/New Year period. We would like the job completed in January.
Mohammed contacted me before the Christmas break and arrived on time as agreed this morning, 3rd January. The drip was not an emergency. He quickly identified the problem, replaced the "olive" and stopped the drip. I was happy with his cheerful and positive manner and the fact that he did not try to make a small job bigger! We agreed a fair price for his work and I would definitely call him again.
I have a worcester bosch combi boiler which is always drawing hot water, even though no hot water taps are turned on. I have checked for leaks in the system but cannot find any. I therefore need the boiler to be fixed or maybe identify and repair a leak somewhere in the system.
Install tap(s) We need an outdoor tap/hose for the garden. It would need to link the plumbing under the kitchen sink, which is approx. 1 meter away from the outside wall. The kitchen sink is against an interior wall which is at angle with the outside wall. We could provide pictures by email if needed. Need a quote for all incl. material/labour included of Vat Thanks.
To replace the stopple on the washing machine.
Looking to get quotes on the following: 1 - kitchen plumbing: kitchen has been removed, looking to move plumbing for sink and drainage and gas hob 2 - washing machine: previously located in kitchen, would like quote to move water and drainage to cupboard next to kitchen 3 - central heating plumbing: pipes currently located along walls; would like quote to move this under floorboards (flat currently empty)
Need someone urgently to plumb in washing machine and dishwasher, which arrived today and are currently sitting in our shared hallway.
The washing machine is a straight swap for the old one.
The dishwasher needs new pipes fitted around the back of the existing cupboards, approx 3m from sink drain.
Install appliance Just moved into a new house and there are a few jobs requiring a plumber, first installing a dishwasher, then fixing a leaking sink, installing a bathroom etc. Ideally need someone good and reliable who can do all of this eventually.
It is a very basic job, and one that we have tried to do ourselves, but 2 of our radiators need bleeding and with one of them we have tried numerous radiator keys, but the little bits that the key fits onto on the radiator have been worn down and therefore all keys we have tried are too big. So we need someone to come and bleed our radiator, which is very frustrating, but we don't know what else to try without professional help/advice!
Repair toilet I have a push button flush that needs repairing. The flush plate mechanism no longer works/there is a part missing (one of the plastic threaded buttons behind the plate). Please see photos attached of missing part and existing flush plate/cistern. Unfortunately the flush has no branding on it so I can't tell the make of it. The item to be repaired is easily accessible
Repair toilet I have a flush mechanism that need repairing. The cistern is hidden behind a ply-board unit that needs unscrewing The item to be repaired is easily accessible
The guttering of the property has come apart on the roof so the drain pipe down the building is not being used. The property is a 3 storey period townhouse. This needs to be fixed.
Hot water - heating I don't have hot water from my taps. Radiators are not heating up. Make of boiler: Vaillant Additional information: Have just moved into a flat and it's been vacant for some time. Gas is connected, but boiler doesn't seem to ignite. No hot water or heating.
