I have an immersion heater- usually i just switch on the wire which goes to the top of the tank. This stopped working so i noticed the fuse box had one switch down, and when i switched it back on it heated water again once but then stopped. i switched the lower heater on and it went bang. i tried replacing the thermostat in the top element but it didn't make a difference

Paul turned up on time, even phoned to let me know he was on his way. He completed the plumbing job in no time and showed me how I could fix it myself in future. He's also a fully qualified electrician - he put up the bathroom light, which was complicated, but he did a great job. He told me he could do just about any interior job and I believe him; I've asked him to quote for plastering work and to hang doors. Useful man to know! Professional, respectful and cleans up afterwards. Great work.

Hello, I have two jobs which need doing.... Firstly my toilet is broken the pan connector needs replacing. I have patched it up for now but would like to fixed as soon as possible. I am available This Thursday and Friday. When here I would also like to discuss changing my worktop and sink in my kitchen including retiling. the central thermostate is not working, i need a quote to replace it. the thermostate is a sunvic tlx (looks very old). one radiator can not be switched off as the on/off tap next to the radiator is damaged i need the tap replaced so i can switch off the radiator. I will need to be told how much it will cost to replace it (material and labour). the flat is a private ownership within a council estate with a central supply of hot water (the heater system is not within my control - it looks like there are pipes into the flat supplying the hot water)

Economy 7 System. Boiler with boost and off peak switches. Hot water temperature is much lower than normal.

Unsold lead, updated details: Alternatively someone could also be around on Monday - both during the day and in the evening. Original: Our problems all relate to water temperature and pressure. In the last day or two, our hot water has been lukewarm. For several days before that, the cold taps were running hot water - no matter how long you let them run. For many months, the cold water in our kitchen tap specifically wasn't really cold - closer to lukewarm. And the pressure was (and still is) very poor. We live in a maisonette, in a council-owned building that contains about seven or eight other homes. It has a communal supply of hot water. We need someone to work out what's wrong and, if it's a problem in our own plumbing, fix it all for us. Ideally, it'd be great if someone could come along at some point on Sunday.

the clip thats holding the dual flush valve in place is broken. to change that we need to access to the cistern and thats all boxed in with no access panels. the other problem is that it does not fill fast enough we need to cut an access panel to gain access to the underside of the cistern in order to replace both valves

I need someone with sound experience of pipe work who has dealt with these issues regularly in the past. I want a plumber - drain specialist and not a general builder.
