We need some work carrying out as part of a large project we are undertaking refurbishing a customer's barn conversion (barn converted 20+ years ago, being re-furbished now). We are the development company and this would be a sub-contract job to our larger project.
The work is :
1) Removing a door/frame and blocking in a doorway in stone (outer) and block (inner) with insulation, ties etc.
Stone is aleady bought and on-site, may need some pieces cutting with Stil saw. Mortar can be sand & cement but
pointing is to be in lime pointing mix.
2) Removing one window and blocking up opening to a higher cill level than at present, details as above
3) Removing a door and blocking to approx. 1m up, details as above
4) Hacking out existing sand and cement mortar from a random stone gable end, approx. 7m long x 8m high overall and re-pointing with lime pointing. You will need to scaffold this.
We require very good quality work and only people with at least two excellent reviews on this website for stone-related work should buy this lead please.
Budget is in the region of £2,500 incl. your labour, materials (sand/cement, lime pointing mix, blocks etc) and scaffolding.
Shaun and his team did a superb job of re-pointing our random stone gable end and filling in some old doorways in matching, coursed stone. He and his team were punctual, very hard working and kept things clean and tidy at all times. The pricing was reasonable and they were very easy and straightforward to deal with. I would highly recommend their services and will definitely contact them again for any future work I need of a similar nature. Paul
