Budget Under £4,000

Job 1890 terraced house with 2 flights of stairs. We would like the woodwork on the stairs and banisters stripped and revarnished or whatever needs doing to get it in good condition before we partially carpet. Possibly give a bit of love to the 8 doors and skirting boards as well Timing: I am flexible on start date

Comment We didn't use this tradesman for our period renovation - we decided to use a carpenter instead. When we informed them, we had a very sarcastic email back saying that they knew more about wood than any carpenter and calling us timewasters. When we replied we had yet another email calling us timewasters. Unless you are definitely going to use them we wouldn't recommend that you ask them to quote because they obviously do not like it when they quote for a job but do not get the work! Annabel

Budget Under £250

Job Not quite wooden shutters, but I couldn't find a match for 'Blind Fitter'. I need 5 blinds put up. The first 3 are wooden slatted blinds for a bay window and i'd need them fitted in the recess. They are ready-made but will need cutting (they are just Homebase's off the shelf blinds) by a few cm either side. The other 2 blinds are roller blinds for a different room in the house, again they are shop-bought ready made and will require cutting.

Budget Under £100

Job Its a simple job for someone used to working with glass. my concern is, if I do it myself i will either smash the piece of glass or I will measure it too big or too small and then it won't fit!
